BSOD and total freezes often. HELP

Hi Carl

I would like to thank you for your assistance with my problem. I have addressed the following drivers.

ahcix64s.sys Tue Mar 17 02:38:19 2009 This comes with the ATI catalyst pack downloaded from Gigabyte
amdsbs.sys Fri Mar 20 14:36:03 2009 This comes with the ATI catalyst pack downloaded from Gigabyte
amdxata.sys Tue May 19 13:56:59 2009 This comes with the ATI catalyst pack downloaded from Gigabyte
AtiPcie.sys Tue May 05 11:00:22 2009 This comes with the ATI catalyst pack downloaded from Gigabyte

Ph3xIB64.sys Fri May 08 17:11:49 2009 This was relting to my Hauppauge 67xx TV card, I have updated that from Hauppauge

RTKVHD64.sys Mon Oct 13 06:29:18 2008 This was for my integrated sound card
usbfilter.sys Fri Apr 03 07:39:51 2009 This comes with the ATI catalyst pack downloaded from Gigabyte

I have updated all of the above, Ph3xIB64.sys was completely removed when I updated that driver. The only problem I got was when I ran the latest ATI Catalyst update off Gigabyte, it said that the latest drivers were already installed, but I told it to install them anyway.

What do you want me to do next?

Now let your system run and lets see what happens. If you get another BSOD, upload it as soon as you can. If we are lucky, updating the sound card driver will have solved the problem. If not, we will look further. Keep us updated. :)

Hi Carl

Last night it was running like a sweetheart, then today I've had two BSOD's. Weirdly I've only had one dump file and the date on it is yesterdays.

I've attached the file for you to look over if you could be so kind.

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

I see you have an nVidia card, but what appears to be the ATI Catalyst suite installed. Unless I am misinterpreting what atdcm64a.sys is, go ahead and remove all ATI software from your machine.

Remove Avast for the time being, with this tool: http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

Replace it with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

Turn off Verifier and see if the crashes stop.

Thank you for your help Jonathon and everybody else.

I have reinstalled windows 7 using the latest drivers and I'm using MSE virus killer, I've also not installed alcohol 120%.

So far so good, it is running perfectly for now.

Thanks again for everyones help and advice, without it I would still be getting BSOD's.

Outstanding. Thank you for reporting back.

A clean install is a good solution. I am glad you did not reinstall Alcohol and that you are using MSE. If you have another drive, now would be a good time to make a system image as a backup. Using an image is quicker than a clean install and you you don't have to reinstall software.

There is one last thing Carl, I'm not the biggest lover of Microsoft software but in this day and age it is a necessary evil, well until the linux revolution.

Regarding MSE, knowing how many security flaws that are riddled throughout all Microsoft software is MSE the same, and will the scumbags, oh sorry I meant virus coders be using the vulnerabilities that are part of it to attack my computer?
