BSOD Error 0xc00002e3 Randomly

Hello,
Can anyone help with this BSOD error. It happens randomly usually when using Skype, oovoo, meebo or anything involving some kind of video like youtube.
I thought video drivers and updated to the latest 10.7 ATI drivers.
The machine is a notebook which came with Vista and was wiped completely and reinstalled with Windows 7 x64 Pro. The drivers are either downloaded from manufacturer or the windows driver since the notebook manufacturer doesn't support Windows 7 on this model.

Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64: x64 Pro
- the original installed OS on the system? NO
- an OEM or full retail version? Full
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

- What is the age of system (hardware)? 2 years
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS? 2-3 months

Please find all the required info attached. I should note this is not my computer, it's a friend's laptop so don't go by my system specs.

Event Viewer just has a gap from when the crash occurs until the system boots back up. All I have are the DMP files.

It's also not an MSI netbook. The computer also does restart properly but the problem just happens again the next day or something. It's not constant but maybe once a day. It seems to happen more when viewing things like youtube or going on Skype.

I did a forum search and found someone else getting this error with a desktop and it was blamed on possible overheating.

I downloaded CPUID Hardware monitor and the laptop idles on the CPU at like 69C and goes up toward 80 under the load. I'm not too familiar with laptops but I know on a desktop that would be bad.

Hi Nickp85 and welcome

These crashes seem to point to several different causes but because of the specific BugCheck I believe they are really memory so lets start there.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

If that shows no errors you should do this next.

Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

Well, memtest and sfc came back clean.

When I installed Windows 7 for my friend, I did have to use some drivers meant for Vista x64 because Gateway didn't have Win7 drivers and I couldn't find anything online.

We've been BSOD free for about 24 hours now which hasn't happened in quite a while. My friend was able to use Skype and youtube problem free.

What I ended up doing was updating the GEAR driver you mentioned above but I also completely uninstalled the SD card drivers I installed from Gateway. He doesn't use the SD card slot so now it just shows as an unknown device.

So far so good with that fix.

No more BSOD about a week after the fix. Looks like it was the SD card reader Vista drivers I used.
