Third party firewall and antivirus are notorious cause for BSODs. Zone Alarm has high risk of causing BSODs, please remove it completely
ZoneAlarm uninstaller - removal tool available - Windows Help Forum
Remove Kaspersky as well for testing:

If you need an alternative Antivirus program to use while not having those 2, you can try Microsoft security essential and make sure built in firewall is on.

Stop code 124 is usually hardware related, please read this article to know what it means and what to try:

My pc is not even a week old. They had to exchange it before after one week of constant crashing, again had it just one week. Could this be a general hardware problem with this specific make and model?

ZoneAlarm is the most likely cause. Please remove it, as suggested. Use this tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

Hi,

Please explain to me why Zonealarm, which is running perfectly on my other new pc, would be causing the problem. Both pc are running Windows 7. Why would it affect one pc and not the other?

I have removed it and are still getting the same problem.

Poorly coded programs can run into permissions issues, and unknown situations, and thus run fine on some machines, but not others.
