    Windows Failed To Load

When I started my computer up, it failed to load windows. Since it was stuck at the windows loading screen for 10 minutes, I rebooted into safemode where I attempted a system repair (It came up automaitcally). After it was done it told me it could not solve my problem. I clicked finish and the computer shut down. I turned it on again forgetting to take note of what the problem was. However, windows started up this time. It did take alot slower then it is has before. I am wondering what would cause this and what I can do to try and fix it.

Nothing. I ran it 5 times and each time it said it could not repair. After the 5ith time I let it load normally. I got a BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. It went away to vast to view the details.

    Here is the info

    Here are my specs.
-OS- Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits
    -CPU - AMD Athlon II X3 440 Rana 3.0GHz
    -Motherboard - ASRock 870 EXTREME3
    -Ram - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
-Graphics Card- GIGABYTE GV-N460D5-768I-B GeForce GTX 460

Another note to add is that was able to load into windows. This after I went into safe mode to see if my drivers were up to date. Windows said they were so I tried to load back into windows without safe mode. I was able to load into windows but my graphics card did not. When I ran my graphicsw card cd for driver updates, I got the most recent BSOD, which I included in this post.

    Thank you for your time.

Unfortunately, there is no dump file. Make sure that your system is set to for dumps. Read the last part of the first post in this tutorial.

Looking at the information you provided, you have hardware or hardware related issues. Did you run Windows Upgrade Advisor before you installed Win 7?

Free Download PC Upgrade Advisor Windows 7 Hardware Programs Issues

Just looking at the info you uploaded, I found an error code of A. This is a hardware error code.

    STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility
With this in mind, I see that you are running AVG anti-virus. AVG has been know to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. If you can, I suggest that you download Microsoft Security Essentials, then uninstall AVG using this tool > Info > Tool (32bit) - Tool (64 bit), then install MSE and use it while you are trouble shooting.

I also see that you have some very outdated drivers. Win 7 does not like outdated drivers and these can and do cause crashes.

I will research these drivers tomorrow and give you a list. I am going to sign off for the night. Make sure dump files are enabled and we will go from there.

Take a look at the first eight entries in the Health Report you uploaded. This is why I asked if you had ever ran Windows Upgrade Advisor.

Here are the out of date drivers I have found. Windows 7 generally (there some exceptions) does not like drivers dated prior to July 13, 2009. Obsolete drivers can and do cause crashes.

You have a lot of outdated drivers and I did not list all of them. Did you do an upgrade install or a clean install? Without a dump file, I do not know how many of these obsolete drivers are trying to load when you boot. Some could be just on your hard drive and not loading. At any rate, if your system is trying to load obsolete drivers, that may well be the cause of your problems.

I recommend that you take a look at your software and your peripherals. It you are running old software from XP days, try to update that software or uninstall it. If you have a Brother printer, try to update the drivers. If you can't get updated drivers, you should uninstall the printer and buy one certified as Win 7 compatible. Make sure your chipset drivers are updated.

Just to clarify for you, this is a brand new comp I built less then a week ago. It was a clean install of windows. I did not run a windows upgrade advisor. I thought I had updated the drivers but obviously I missed them. I will take the steps you have listed when I get home from work. Thank you very much for your help!

You are welcome. Very good. Just for the heck of it. Run Upgrade Advisor and see what it tells you. I base this on the health report. If you need help with the drivers, let us know. I recommend going to the manufacturers' websites rather than using Windows Update or Device Manager. Be sure to enable mini dumps.

Ok, I have enabled mini-dump and am and clipping them to this post with my latest BSOD which occured after my computer was rebooted after uninstalling avg.

I am not great at computer tech. I do need help in dealing with the drivers. For example, the issue of the Brother printer. I have never hooked up a printer to this computer. When i search "Brother" I get a text doc showing me all the drivers and i see the Brother drivers are installed. Yet, I cannot find the drivers in any programs. How do I locate them?
