    Black Screen Help

I'm not sure if this is the right section to post but I'll give it a try.

Anyway, I am fixing a computer for a friend and his computer wouldn't start up properly. It would start up with the Windows 7 Boot logo and then go to a black screen with the mouse hanging there. I could move the mouse but nothing else would work including ctrl+alt+delete.

I then used my Windows 7 usb pen backup install to install Windows 7 on the laptop and it would still hang at the black screen.

I then used a program called killdisk, put it onto the usb and made it bootable, and it removed everything off the hard drive. I then went to start the computer and it was still starting with the Windows 7 logo but just stayed there

I then used my Windows 7 usb pen and it didn't work. I also tried my Windows 7 disk and it didn't work.

I faced this problem on this laptop before but it had Windows Vista on it (which was about 8 months) and put Windows 7 on it (8 Months ago). Now the problem is back again and im not sure how to fix it. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Does it do the same thing when you boot to safe mode (F8) (if you can)?

Do you have a backup from before the problem started?

Do you have a win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

the more info you give us the better'

What's the point of using safe mode if I have no OS on there because remember i used the program called killdisk which deleted everything off my hard drive haha :P.

No I don't have a backup. As i said it's my friends computer and no he doesn't have one.

Also, as I said i used the Windows 7 repair disk and it did the same thing.
