Dell Studio 1558 - BSOD once per day

    Hi all,
I received my laptop two days ago and for two days i got a weird, glitchy BSOD. I tried updating the graphics card drivers and BIOS yesterday but today, unfortunately, it happened again, the same weird glitch looking blue page and then a restart.
Attached are the two minidumps. Hope any of you can help me.

The dmp(s) point to ntkrpamp.exe or ntoskrnl.exe as the probable cause. We know this is not the case, as these are core OS files, and will definitely not cause a BSOD. They are just the default files the debuggers blame when they can't see a better cause. Enable driver verifier using the following procedure..

    - Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    - Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    - Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
    - Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

    Code:

I just had to restart after enabling the verifier for having the laptop crash six times before i restarted in safe mode. Here are the new dumps. Hope everything is fine, besides being unable to start 7 elseway.

If you haven't done so already, you can turn off driver verifier, which will allow you to boot into 7 normally, by opening driver verifier the same way you did before, select "delete existing settings" and click finish.

ZoneAlarm is causing the issue here. Please remove it with this tool: http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/fr...cpes_clean.exe

    Replace with MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials

I deleted zonealarm and it seems like the blue screens stopped, for now. Will keep you updated. Thanks for everything so far.
