    Programs crash if keyboard is used


    I just got an HPpavilion dm1 with windows 7 home premium 64 bit. every once in awhile i will open a program, and if i touch any button on the keyboard, the whole program freezes up, and i am forced to close it. when this problem starts occuring, it effects almost everything on my computer, firefox, internet explorer, mixcraft, itunes. the only thing i've found to work so far is internet explorer (64 bit).

    this problem started the same day i got my computer, this will go on for awhile, then it will go away and will come back a day or two later for a little while. it's starting to drive me nuts

    It sounds like a problem with your keyboard.. do you have another one that you can use to test whether this is the case or not?

    I just tried another keyboard and all of my programs are still freezing.

    also, i just added windows media player to the list of programs that are freezing, and added paint to the list of programs that aren't freezing.

    Go to device manager and check the driver for the keyboard. If bad there will be a yellow marker.
    If none, and it is old update it.
