    Everything Froze

I was surfing the net with Firefox 3.5, when everything just stopped responding! Even the mouse and keyboard! I had to restart manually, and a "recovered from fatal error" kind of msg showed. Since then I have installed the AMD processor driver and dual core optimiser. The only major installation before the crash was Peer Gaurdian 2 RC1. Could it have caused the freeze? OR else maybe some default driver?

    Event viewer shows this:-

Yes, it is definitely possible that PG could have caused something.

Upload the latest minidump from C:\Windows\Minidump to Rapidshare and we will analyze it for you.

And/or you can uninstall PG and not just disable it. You may find you have no more crashes.

From what I have read Peer Guardian does not work properly on Windows 7. If the freeze ups occured shortly after you installed PG then that is the most likely cause of your freeze ups.

Yup, I think it's definitely possible still Chev65.

If uninstalling PG doesn't help, this crash dump points to a hardware cause so you may have something failing on your machine, physically.

We can try to look further into it if you report back that removing PG did not fix.

    0x124_AuthenticAMD

Either hardware issue or incompatibility issue with software running.

Removing PG probably has fixed this, no?

Yes, so far no more lock ups. Could it have been processor driver issue? I installed AMD processor driver after the freeze. It installed ok under the compatibility mode withno hiccups. I seem to remember the same thing happened to XP sp2 once with defaut (microsoft) processor driver installed.
