Test temps while gaming: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Test GFX card: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Remove nVidia drivers with Driver Sweeper. Then install these ones: NVIDIA DRIVERS 258.96 WHQL

Thanks for the advice- please check my first post. I have done all the stress testing, recorded temps, tried various drivers, and everything. Could you guys help me analyze the dump files and see if it's pointing to something else? The BSOD screen itself shows nvlddmkm.sys, but the BSOD Viewer points it to dxgkrnl.sys for the cause of BSOD.

nvlddmkm.sys is the main nVidia graphics adapter driver; dxgkrnl.sys is the Windows DirectX driver. When either one is blamed, it usually points to either the drivers, or the card itself.

BlueScreenView isn't quite as accurate as Windbg, but in this case, both programs indicate a graphics issue.

Since playing with drivers didn't work, we are pretty much left with a hardware error. Before diagnosing it as a faulty video card, try reseating the card, if you haven't done so already.

Try using a different video card in your machine. Grab one off of another computer, or borrow one from a friend.

Also, test your current video card in another machine. If the new machine gets BSODs, we can say that the card needs to be replaced.

Thank you very much- I will test those as soon as I can. At least I guess it is safe to think that it may be my video card problem instead of my CPU or memory. :)

Card reseated - still BSOD
Tried gaming with 8800gt - no BSODs yet
I'm gonna now try to lower the game graphics settings and see if it will resolve something..
My BFG video card apparently was not registered correctly when I bought it and registered it online, so I don't have the Lifetime Warranty.. and it's only about 1 year old, and it's already failing on me?? sigh... I've been also trying to contact BFG about the issue, and no replies yet. :/

*edit: I was trying to go to BFG's website today, and it's down. o_o;

haha yeaah- I actually just read that too after trying to log into their website. I guess my RMA wasn't going to be honored correctly after all since all they're probably going to do is send me back the old card anyways. @_@

I guess I'm a bit confused. Did you ever get BSODs with the 8800, or is that the one you are testing?

Ah- sorry. The card that I was having problems with is BFG GTX 260 MAXCORE 55, and I had a spare 8800GT lying around so I can test it. I've tried lower graphics settings on GTX 260 but it still BSOD'd. I guess it is the card's fault.. I can only find out after playing more on 8800 GT at this point haha. I'll let you guys know of any updates.
