Windows 7: Windows 7 - Multiple errors/BSODs/Black screen

Frankly I've got no idea why this is happening. If you're up for an experiment we can try running Driver Verifier to force a crash to identify the driver.

Be advised that Driver Verifier can cause your system to crash before it boots into Windows (so you'll be stuck in a boot loop with no easy way out). As such I'd suggest that you backup your stuff and have access to another computer if you want to try and recover the installation. FYI - if you can't get into normal mode, try getting into Safe Mode - that'll disable Driver Verifier from running (so you'll be able to shut it off in Safe Mode).

That being said, go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
Select the "Create custom settings" button and then click Next
Select "Select individual settings from a list" and click Next
Select everything EXCEPT FOR Low Resource Simulation and click Next
Select "Automatically select unsigned drivers" and click Next

If no unsigned drivers are found, then select the "Select driver names from a list" and select all drivers not provided by Microsoft - and then click Finish.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash (continue using it while waiting).

Once the system crashes and you've got the memory dump file, launch Driver Verifier again and select "Delete existing settings". This will stop Driver Verifier from running (and crashing your system).

Post the memory dump file here and we'll have a look at what it says.

I've been having a LOT of error messages in event viewer concerning my connection. None made me crash though.

The Peer Name Resolution Protocol service terminated with the following error:
%%-2140993535

The Peer Name Resolution Protocol cloud did not start because the creation of the default identity failed with error code: 0x80630801.

Repeated errors too. Driver problems perhaps?
I have the exact same problem!
The Peer Name Resolution Protocol service terminated with the following error:
%%-2140993535

and
The Peer Networking Grouping service depends on the Peer Name Resolution Protocol service which failed to start because of the following error:
%%-2140993535

Not necessarily in this order but always combined. I don't know what the cause of this is. I too, dont experience crashes but this problem prevents windows from loading stuff that Homegroup needs. So homegroup doesn't work.

I'm currently still on build 7077, I'm planning to do a clean install to see if that helps but I think i'll wait for a RTM leak next week.

I briefly stopped leaving my laptop on at night for downloading. And yesterday I kept it running, waking up to find a black screen with "Internal harddisk not found"!

Software error or hardware error? I'm not sure yet.

BlueS has given me no problems But i also use this driver.

D:\bluesoleil\BS\BlueSoleil.6.2.227.10 Retail.

Win7 has its own DVD-CD burner auto installed. so you can clean uninstall all of them to test...
recommend removal of AVG untill problem fixed.
recommend removal of OneCare till problem fixed.
Disable or remove your FW till problem fixed.
recommend you also do: insert DVD -> start -> cmd (run as admin) type SFC /scannow.
SFC will scan and fix any and all corrupt system files.

also seems to me you have several CROSSLINKED files... run and allow Win7 to scan and fix - it really does a FANSTIC job of that.
Then defrag - TOTAL.

I've been getting several BSODs or the screen would just turn black and the system would stop responding.

The most common errors that I'm getting is:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. -- I get this daily, if not every few hours.

Just did a quick search of that GUID, and there is some refernce to power settings or plan. that would make sense since there are refs to kernel-power, and schemas.

I'm no expert but I was having some BSODs after doing an upgrade install of W7 from a previous version of W7 and uninstalling and reinstalling ESET AV (and rebooting) solved the problems, in my case. I would suggest trying that, if you haven't already.
