Also, some more info as I'm really running out of ideas here. When I log in, the Windows logo that comes up when you first boot up flickers, unsure if that's related. When I turned off the latter half of the drivers, whilst testing it on a game, the screen started to flicker a bit (not screen-tearing, it was a black flicker).

The last few times it's frozen it's been on a game, though to be fair the majority of times I am using the computer, it is for such purposes, however it has crashed just as much whilst using the CPU on nothing but the browser and scanning anti-virus in the background.

Really quite stumped here.

Alright, I can't start the programme in Safe Mode (in which everything seems perfectly fine), so I'll try to start it up normally and see how it lasts.

That could be grapics, but that can wait. Make sure you are not overheating, that could cause big problems. We can fix the graphics driver/card anytime

Temperature on the CPU's are as follows:

Core 0: 66C
Core1: 60C
Core2:64C
Core3:65C
Core4:65C
Core5:65
Core6:65C
Core7:65C

Constantly moving, so I took the highest. It's roughly lowest at 60C

Took a quick screenshot. Also forgot to mention every time I log in, BTtray gives me an error saying "ERROR: Unable to start the Bluetooth stack service."

Most likely unrelated, but I'm clutching at straws here.

This is what I think that you have done so far, if not please perform the task
Uninstalled A/V, and installed Security Essentials
Tested HD
Ran and Anti Virus Scan and Malwarebytes
Checked for Over Heating
Tested with clean boot

Disable blue toot, for testing.

I'm having the exact same problem as this guy. I've tried installing the Frozen throne about a bajillion times, finally got it to install and now WHENEVER I try to launch the game my asus g73j freezes, loops an annoying beating sound and freaks out. I've had this computer for less than half a year.

I leave it on a lot, but I still don't think this laptop should be crapping out so quickly. This laptop also seems to freeze at random like the OP is reporting. If there is no sound it's just a silent freeze.

There's no real pattern or consistency to these freezes with the exception of launching the Frozen Throne. I am not impressed. Are there any new/confirmed solutions to this problem with the g73j???

Found the solution after researching the problem a little more. The Asus G73j was build with two sets of drivers that conflict with each other: realtek and sound blaster. When both drivers run simultaneously, they conflict and cause these lockups that we've been experiencing.

Simply go to your control panel and uninstall your sound blaster program. This should prevent anymore lockups. It helped me.

Hey there, sorry to resurrect an old forum thread, but I too am suffering from this issue. It's infuriating not being able to find any info on this problem at all, so if anybody has any more ideas, I'd love to hear them. I'm open to anything at this point.
