Blue screen on bootup after using kaspersky rescue disk

    Hi,
I was having a problem with a load of virus's on my compaq laptop so I decided to download the kaspersky rescue disc to purge them all, having just finishing quarentining deleting and disinfecting the trojans etc. my laptop will now not go past the windows 7 black screen with the swirling colours before resulting in a blue screen of death. I am thinking that the kaspersky must of deleted some start up files but I do not have any recovery discs or partition so I have no way of oding a recovery that way any ideas????
    thanks for your help

    Welcome!

First thing, if you haven't done so already, create a repair disc. If you have a Windows installation DVD, there is no need.

    System Repair Disc - Create

Then, try a system restore to a point before the virus.

If that doesn't work, try booting up in Safe Mode. If that works, backup all your data immediately. Then run Malwarebytes.

If safe mode doesn't work, I have to recommend a Custom Install. Basically, a clean install, except you do not format the partition.

    Custom Install Windows 7
