Ok so did that, rebooted, doesn't seem to have done anything, apart from the fact that everythings reaaallllllllyyyyy slooooooowwwwwww and I can't access the task manager.

Is it supposed to do anything? Or is there something else I need to do to get the driver report?

Sorry guys this all new to me. Apoligies for being a big n00bee.
No apologies needed. We have all been n00bees and had to learn from scratch.

I was rereading your post and notice what you said about your system being really slow. Driver Veririfier should not make slow down that much. I also noticed you said you could not access task manager.

Disable Driver verifier. Download and install Malwarebytes (free version). Open the program and update it. Run a quick scan and make sure you don't have a virus or Trojan lurking about.

Win 7 Ult. 32bit

Have Comodo running on this plus the active full version of Malware bytes. Anything running on this system needs my prior approval, so it should be sweet.

Gonna try the driver verifier, and updating that driver you were refereeing to.

Sigh... I feel a reinstall in me bones... argh!

Win 7 Ult. 32bit

Hi guys

Iíve gone ahead and reinstalled the Os. Seems to have cured the problems although unforutunately Iíll have to set everything up again.

Note to self. Create a system image disk when finished...

I would just like to take this oppertunity to publically thank Carl for all the support he has given.
He is both knowledgeable and helpful and an great assest to The Windows 7 team.

Thanks for everything peps.

Thanks for reporting back with your solution. I'm glad your reinstall worked and you are running smoothly. I would suggest that you, indeed, do a system image. I also recommend that you update that HP driver. I can't say that it was giving you trouble; but older filter drivers definitely can cause problems.

Thank you for the compliments and happy computing!
