Computer hangs at shutdown

    Computer hangs at shutdown


    I've just noticed this today. when I try to shutdown my computer via command or power button, it just hangs at "windows is shutting down". There is no disk activity.. I have no idea what to do.

    Try closing all programs first, then test shutdown
    Then try closing all stuff in the system tray (by the clock in the lower right corner) - and test
    Then try closing all 3rd party stuff in the Processes tab of Task Manager - and test

Well I'm having trouble with automatically shutting down and also just shutting down manually. Sometimes it annoys me since these hangs are INCONSISTENT. Now I did do a little researching on how to fix this but most of the fix suggested by others seems to be using clean boot and little by little...
