touchpad driver? For the computer, for those touch screen monitors?
not the curser, the word window just unselects and reselects causing me to stop typing and have to reselect it manually or wait til it reselects. I can create another video besides the one on youtube showing the problem deeper.
Okay, maybe we have a lot of processor activity. Check to see if something is grabbing a lot of cpu. Also, I liked the idea of checking for malware and viruses. Sorry, can't recall if Ken or somebody else said that.
And actually, writing to the disk would cause the sound you are hearing. Ken, would that be indexing or something else?
Nothing much, the thing that is taking the most memory is explorer. Second would be internet explorer so it can't be that. I wonder what is writing to my disk, I have nothing running except for internet explorer. Anyone know how to fix the deselect reselect problem?
many thing can be causing Disk Activity.
Indexing would certainly cause some thrashing & HD activity.
But I would think, if the PC has be running for 2-3 days that most of the main indexing would be complete by now.
AntiVirus scanning, and Defragmenting are a couple others I can think of right off that would be create a lot of disk useage.
You might try opening the task manager, and click the resource manager box.
Then look under the "Disk" tab. It should be able to pinpoint whats using your disk.
My computer has been on for weeks.
Well, I found out I'm scanning for viruses right now but this problem happens even when my virus scanner program is not scanningIt happens even when nothing at all is opened, just, my desktop. Hopefully this will go away sooner. You mit find a lot of errors in my posts and that is because of the stupid poblem.
Virus scan is done, full scan, no viruses. Nothing running now except for Internet Explorer and the problem is still happening.
Problem is not fixed and is getting worse. Can anyone please help me fix this problem. I can even create a video of the problem deeper and that is what I would do if that helps fix the problem.
I don't recall, but did you check for malware. Specifically, I'd like you to install malwarebytes, then reboot your computer into safe mode, and run that program. I'm highly suspicious, as you indicated this problem only occurs when you hear a noise (which I assume to be disk activity).
