    BSOD / freezing


    I have a custom built desktop, 6 mths old.

    Win 7 - Home premium 64bit (re-installed 2 months ago)
    Video Card - ATI HD 5770
    148 GB HD (114 GB free)

    I followed the instructions as outline by the moderator and attached the following below. Here is the error report.

    Welcome!

    It appears hardware is the cause, so we'd better get started on some diagnostics right away.

    First, test RAM. RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    Next, test CPU: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

    Be sure to keep an eye on Speedfan, and let us know what the temps are like.

    Thanks J_K. Working on your suggestions. I've got one of those Lian-li aluminum cases and the last temp reading I took from the bios was:

    cpu - 45 deg celcius
    mb - 37 deg celcius

    I found another possible cause, McAfee. Please remove it with this tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe

    It is running on startup, and I have seen it cause BSODs before. That may be an explanation for the uptimes shown.
