Yep, looks like that is indeed the cause. reventon should be posting shortly, hopefully he can find a new driver.

Here is a cheap PCI network card I recommend as a replacement: Newegg.com - AZiO AWD154a IEEE 802.11b/g PCI 802.11g 54Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter Up to 54Mbps Wireless Data Rates 64/128-Bit WEP, WPA

There are plenty of Windows 7 drivers available for it.

Feel free to go more expensive if you wish, just make sure it's compatible with Windows 7.

    Ok.

Atheros is appalling at after-sale service, no official driver updates to be found anywhere.

However I did manage to find a 2009 driver for the same chipset family - from HP.

It is unconventional, to say the least, but if it does work then it will save you having to purchase a new one.

Atheros Wireless LAN Driver Compaq Presario CQ60-433US Notebook PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

If that doesn't update it, or it stops it from working, then you would be best to buy a new adapter as Jonathan_King mentioned.
