    Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Freezes

    Hi ppl.

I got an problem with windows which is related with torrents or harddrive(s). So ill start my story.

Beginging of the story: I got Abit IP35-E motherboard, Different Q6600, 4GB Kingston DDR2 Ram, then all my other parts what i have now. Windows 7 worked fine. Then i got from my brother Asus P5K, another Q6600 and more 4GB ram. Then my problems started. I did put those pieces in and rebooted. All went fine, then i were watching movie and it crashed, froze. Even sound did freeze, it was really annyoing. Keyboard didnt responce, had to do hard reset. Well, that was first time when freezes. Now my computer freezes 1-3 times in a day. What i do when it freezes? Well i download some torrents and it just happens. First i tought it is uTorrent, well i changed to Tixati and same happened. Im not sure were those both torrent programs "cheking" files or downloading, or both. I have checked event log, all what i get in there "Critical: Kernel-Power, Event ID 41" there aint any warnings, errors or critical stuff before crash/frozing.

I really hope we get this to work, i have tried reinstalling 3times. Oh! Almost forgot, i were using Arch linux for 1month because of this issue, and.. tsadaa!! there werent any problems with it. I got 1month uptime with linux. PL EA SE help me, im really desperated with this annyoing problem.

EDIT: Didnt remember to add that i suspect powersupply too, because 1. Its antec. 2. Its 2 years old. 3. Windows says so on event viewer.

Event ID 41 is a CPU Kernal error, usually one cpu is stepping at an incorrect rate. If utorrent is the only place it happens I would just get a diff torrent client. If not you can probably fix it by updating your BIOS. BUT only as a last step, and only after you do a restore point and a backup and have a win 7 dvd.

Well, i have tried Tixati torrent client and Vuze. It seems its only torrents what does it, since i play, watch movie and surf on internet, everything works. And it worked on linux too. I have updated to nevest BIOS, no help. Tried to install windows 7 from different ISO, no help. Now you mentioned CPU. This CPU what im using were overclocked to 3GHz when i got it and then i lowered em to default 2.4GHz, could this affect it?

    Hello,

Even If you don't have BSOD follow this link and post us the logs https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html it might be helpful to find the cause.

I got the exact problem ever since i've been using W7 Ultimate 64. My system is rock solid, but as soon as i run a torrent-client (uTorrent, Deluge, Tixati, etc) windows will freeze & i'll need to power off manually. Sometimes the system will freeze after many hours - sometimes it even runs 24 hours, but mostly the system freezes after 2 to 3 hours.

I already swapped every part of this- and another system which i use for torrents, so the only factor that's still constant is the OS; I use a separate retail W7 Ultimate x64 on each of them.

I'll be posting a 'BSOD' report asap.

Did you ever find an answer to this? I have the exact same problem.

When I run a torrent program (Tixati my preference) 2 or 3 times a day my PC freezes, only my mouse arrow works roaming the screen nothing else then half an hour later that stops too. I always need to do a hard restart. Sometimes when torrent is working and I'm watching a video file it makes an audible noise which means memory is struggling with load. However I have 4x 4GB corsair vengeance pro 2133mhz memory.

If I do not have my torrent program on my PC seems to run fine.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
    AMD A10-6800k APU 4.10GHZ - intergrated Radeon HD8670D graphics
    Asus F2A85-v Pro motherboard
    4x 4GB Corsair Vengeance pro 2133mhz memory
    XFX Pro 550w Power Unit
    Crucial 250GB SSD hard drive
2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB sata III ide hard drive
Wester Digital 3TB Sata III ide hard drive
Western Digital 500GB (sata 2 or 3 not sure) ide hard drive
