    Windows Keeps Crashing


    Ok, am not that smart when it comes to computers, but I installed Windows 7 32bit on my Acer laptop, which is only about a year old. It runs fine for about two days, and then.... IT CRASHES! It starts by running EXTREMELY slow, and then I restart it, and it wants to do a startup repair, and the startup repair does not fix it. I had some comp.geeks help me, and they formatted my hard drive, and I reinstalled Windows, and IT CRASHED AGAIN!
    Now my laptop had Windows Vista to start with, then I put Ubuntu on it, and hated it. So I bought the fresh install disk from the store. SO PLEASE HELP!

    Windows 7 already has between 45 and 60 Windows Updates. Your system only has 27 installed. Please visit the Windows Update site and get the rest of the updates.

    The majority of the errors are STOP 0x1A - Memory Management. As such, the first thing to try is hardware diagnostics. There are other errors that refer to your video card, so if the diagnostics don't reveal a problem, then try the free video stress test mentioned below.

    I'd suggest running these free, bootable diagnostics:
    H/W Diagnostics:
    Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
    Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
    HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

    Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)
    Here's the free video stress test that I mentioned above:
    FurMark download site: FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
    FurMark Setup:
    - If you have more than one GPU, select Multi-GPU during setup
    - In the Run mode box, select "Stability Test" and "Log GPU Temperature"
    Click "Go" to start the test
    - Run the test until the GPU temperature maxes out - or until you start having problems (whichever comes first).
    - Click "Quit" to exit
