Random Freezing help with Acer Aspire 5532

Hello everyone, I'm here to seek assistance on my Laptop that started to get random freezing that occurs every 10-15 minutes for about 2-10 minutes.

I got the Laptop from a relative( a gift), it seemed to be in brand new condition with the protective plastic on the screen etc. Microsoft Office and AVG (antivirus),Acer games and a few other things were already on before I got it.

The Laptop was running smoothly, and fast for about 2-3 months then suddenly started to get the random freezing on the Internet and slow running in things like Windows Media, Microsoft Word, Chess Titans and other Windows programs.

I've recently tried to clear the registry of any errors, which seemed to work for about and hour but the next day returned to former freezing self.

    System Information:
    Manufacture- Acer

    Model- Aspire 5532

    Processor- AMD athlon(tm)
    Processor TF-20 1.60
    GHZ

Installed memory (RAM) 3.00GB (2.75GB (usable)

    Sytem type: 64-bit OS

I'm really considering restoring the Computer back to default factory settings, but that would mean It deletes everything, and I'm not sure if Microsoft Office was pre-installed or Installed by my relative, does anyone know a way to get rid of this freezing, and if I do have to restore to factory default setting, could you give me Information of If i might have to get Microsoft Office back by buying or if it would still be there as I reset the the whole laptop.

Its also worth noting that i usually have to reset the laptop a lot due to the annoyance of it continually freezing, I find that when I reset it, and click on the user and boots, every thing seems fast, Internet runs smoothly, windows media player opens up instantly but after about 20-30 minutes, everything is back to being slow to open up and freezes continuously.

Go into event viewer and look for critical errors relating to the problem

There are several ways to find what the problem is. The best is to go into event viewer (type eventvwr in search). Go to the windows log>application tab.

You want to look for critical errors (they have red in the left column ).

When you find them you want to look for critical errors that say app hang, app crash, or anything that relates to the problem.

When you find them please note the event ID, and the source codes and tell us what they are.

Let us know if you need help with any of this.
