Windows 7: BSOD when launching some apps

BSOD when launching some apps

Hey there.

Today out of a sudden Windows started throwing BSODs on my face which obviously made me worried.
After some restarts, clicking and stuff like that, I noticed that the BSODs happen when I try:
1) launching firefox (now using Chrome)
2) launching thunderbird - the program does something in the background and then BSOD

I also noticed that my communicator program (AQQ) kinda lost everything, e.g. contacts. I don't want to check if it really is everything, because the system might crash.
I don't know if any other apps cause the system to crash - I try not to use anything unnecessary. Oh, I tried to reinstall Firefox but when I tried to install the program back, system BSOD'd.
I ran a RAM test using memtest86+, but it showed no mistakes (2 successful passes).
If it helps, I hibernated the system before it all started.

Other info:
OS - Windows 7 Professional x64
Full retail version (I got from MSDN as a student)
Originally, the laptop had Windows Vista installed but I immediately changed to 7 and that happened 1,5 month ago.
My system is: ASUS G51VX-RX05, Core2Duo @ 2.00 GHz, 4GB RAM, GeForce GTX260M.

Thank you kindly for help :)

Hello and Welcome !

The dumps are pointing to Pool corruption. Some driver pool is causing the issue. Lets do some basic steps. Run a Hardware Diagnostic (Memory and Hard Drive) follow this link for instructions Hardware Diagnostic !! « Captain Debugger

Uninstall all Asus related software. Go to C:\Windows\Drivers and rename ghaio.sys to ghaio.old since it's dated 2005.

Uninstall DAEMON Tools Lite and use this article DuplexSecure - FAQ to remove sptd.sys since it notorious for BSOD.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Update the Following Drivers:

ASMMAP64.sys Mon Feb 05 01:22:56 2007
sncduvc.SYS Mon Dec 29 14:44:26 2008

The pool is already corrupt at the time of the current request.
This may or may not be due to the caller.
The internal pool links must be walked to figure out a possible cause of
the problem, and then special pool applied to the suspect tags or the driver
verifier to a suspect driver.
Arg1: 0000000000000003, the pool freelist is corrupt.
Arg2: fffff880031161e0, the pool entry being checked.
Arg3: fffff88073666e74, the read back flink freelist value (should be the same as 2).
Arg4: fffff880ffff0000, the read back blink freelist value (should be the same as 2).

Prevent Apps From Auto Launching Browser (Pale Moon / Firefox)
In Firefox/Pale Moon you can add the -profilemanager flag to your shortcut so that any time you launch it, before the browser actually runs it prompts you for a profile. I like this a lot, it means I never get my browser opening unexpectedly. If I don't want to see the page being triggered by...
BSOD when launching a game
