BSOD when launching some apps
Hey there.
Today out of a sudden Windows started throwing BSODs on my face which obviously made me worried.
After some restarts, clicking and stuff like that, I noticed that the BSODs happen when I try:
1) launching firefox (now using Chrome)
2) launching thunderbird - the program does something in the background and then BSOD
I also noticed that my communicator program (AQQ) kinda lost everything, e.g. contacts. I don't want to check if it really is everything, because the system might crash.
I don't know if any other apps cause the system to crash - I try not to use anything unnecessary. Oh, I tried to reinstall Firefox but when I tried to install the program back, system BSOD'd.
I ran a RAM test using memtest86+, but it showed no mistakes (2 successful passes).
If it helps, I hibernated the system before it all started.
Other info:
OS - Windows 7 Professional x64
Full retail version (I got from MSDN as a student)
Originally, the laptop had Windows Vista installed but I immediately changed to 7 and that happened 1,5 month ago.
My system is: ASUS G51VX-RX05, Core2Duo @ 2.00 GHz, 4GB RAM, GeForce GTX260M.
Thank you kindly for help :)
