HELP! 2 a day BSOD since upgrading to Windows 7 Pro

I recently went from using Vista Home Premium 32bit on my 64 bit system, I can't recall why the builder put 32 bit on my system, and did a complete clean install of Windows 7 Pro. Since doing this the transition has been less the pleasing. I thought Vista upgrade was bad.

I have been getting X64_CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT_2_PROC_ANALYSIS_INCONCLUSIVE IDs and now today I got a new error, X64_0xA0_nt!PopWriteHiberPages+a3. I really need some help.

I have checked out all of my hardware to rule out problems with it and everything has checked out. I even tried removing memory one at a time and running it to rule out bad memory.

Try reinstalling windows, but use diskpart to zero the HDD before starting setup. You may be getting errors because of leftover data from your previous OS
boot from the dvd
hit shift + f10 at the "install now" screen and when the command window pops up type the following commands at each prompt

• diskpart
• list disk
• sel disk 0 (or whichever HDD you want to install windows to)
• clean all (this will take a long time
• exit

then close the window and proceed with setup. It would also be a good idea to use the disk options menu to create a separate partition to store personal files and media.. about 100GB is more than adequate for windows and future programs. That way if the need arises you will have the ability to reinstall windows without losing anything except whatever you forgot to move to the other partition

I have done two complete reinstalls thus far. The first one from the downloaded IOS file and the second from a backup disk supplied by Microsoft. The first install I did a complete reformat of the harddrive and the second time I did not do this.

Just a quick question: if the BSODs didn't happen before upgrading to windows 7, how could the cause be anything hardware related, especially when the upgrade was from Vista?

True.. the 64 bit win 7 does put a slightly heaver load on a machine than 32 bit vista. Personally, I've never gotten any BSODs after installing windows 7 on hardware that ran Vista without any problems, when I used the method I suggested in my 1st post in this thread.. and I've certainly never seen that particular BSOD, so I'll leave it to you guys
