Dell Studio 1558 - Random reboots
Hello
I have a new laptop (about 2 months old):
Dell Studio 1558
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, OEM
From day one I had this annoying problem - the system reboots with no BSOD, while surfing, while using apps or just when idle.
To make a long story short - after chatting with dell, I replaced a faulty hard drive a few days ago, and on the HDD came a freshly installed OS
I only installed Office 2007, and let the computer to run. After 24 hours, while idle, the computer rebooted without any dmp file - only an event "windows did not shut down properly" appeared in the event log
I spoke to Dell once again, and they mentioned something about a motherboard replacement, but they want to send me a tech before taking this step. I really don't want to replace the motherboard, because they are not sure what is the problem and I have a feeling that they will replace it and the problem will persist
I decided to wait, and try, with your help - to identify the problem
I have monitored the temperature of the CPU, GPU and HDD - no problem there
I ran verifier for 24 hours, and the computer crashed twice - but this time it did leave BSOD and .dmp files. The first crash was while shutting down the computer, and the second crash occured while word + powerpoint were running
The Zip file includes the dmp files zipped while using your BSOD Dump & System File Collection app
Thank You!
