Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit going sour with freezes

I have been searching forums left and right and haven't been able to come to a conclusion to why I have recently started dealing with game crash issues. I was playing Battlefield BC2 for a while with no issues, now recently I took up the game again once the WoW arena season started coming to a close. I mention WoW because my rig never crashes/complete lock up while playing WoW or anyother Strat games. The crashes seemingly come with all of my FPS games. FarCry2, Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, BFBC2, Arma2. Its kind of odd that the Firstperson shooters are the only games that seem to make my system lock up. I did do some tests, like Memtest that passed, cleaned out some files.


So after tinkering with drivers and other multiple things...I did as follows
Upgraded M4A79 Deluxe to BIOS 3603
Reverted back to Catalyst 10.5 just to see what would happen
Totally Reinstalled Windows 7 and started over with fresh drivers and running with Realtek ALC1200 on board sound
Did another Memtest and memory seems to be fine, did DOS version and windows version. A


After the reinstall I've had a few Windows 7 desktop crashes during net surfing and still the problem persists. I'm kinda stumpped on what to do...any ideas? thanks guys

Try removing AVG. Use this tool: http://download.avg.com/filedir/util...removerx64.exe

Replace it with MSE for now: www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Install these updated Realtek network drivers: Realtek

If that doesn't help anything, enable driver verifier: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

So I removed AVG and installed MSE like instructed
also I installed the drivers, and did the enable driver verifier.

After that I started up BFBC2 and played for about 5 min and another freeze following reboot I fired up the New Metal of Honor to have it freeze right away at start menu. I'm begining to think its a hardware issue, just hope to get it pointed out. Here is a fresh BSOD file

Well I can't see a sofware cause right now, and it sounds like hardware anyway. Let's start some tests.

I don't know what program you used to test RAM; be sure to use Memtest86, and run it for at least 7 passes, according to this tutorial: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Test your temperatures; that seems especially likely now. Use Speedfan: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

I ran Memtest86 overnight and I had no errors...also I do monitor my temps which are always good I failed to mentions. I also kept track of my video card it rarely goes over 79c with is kinda high, but its always been like that. So maybe age is just getting to my pc

What are the temperatures Speedfan reports?

The computer will not "age"; individual components may, however. Buying a new computer may solve the problem, but hopefully we can figure out which piece is causing the problems.

I'll give prime95 a shot...I'm starting to lean on faulty GPU...I"ll keep informed on my prime95 results

I would try a video card driver redo. Uninstall them in safe mode. Use driver sweeper to get it all out. Get to windows stock vga drivers. Make sure you have the correct driver for your windows version.

W7 is DX11, your card ??, the games???.
run dxdiag see what it says. start>run>dxdiag>enter>select for 64bit>display tab
disable sound in device manager, enter games. Just a check.
Double check bios and vid card setup.
