    Kernel-Power error (41)???

    My Windows 7 . . .
    - x86
    - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

    - What is the age of system (hardware)?
    nearly 3 years old
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?)
    around 6 months old

I have also attached the required health scan files to be evaluated.
    Before this thread, i'd posted that...;

My laptop always crashes, totally randomly, and I highly doubt its due to me doing any heavy multitask. It does it usually when I use Bittorrent and iTunes together.

I thought it could be a problem with the RAM as I only have 1GB with Windows 7, so I upgraded to 2GB, although it runs much smoother now, it still crashes.

I've checked the Windows Event Viewer, and it crashes due to Event 41, Kernel-Power; (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.)

Right before this happens, I get 2 other errors, Event ID 6008 Source; EventLog (The previous system shutdown at 4:56:25 PM on ‎10/‎14/‎2010 was unexpected.)

....and Event ID 4 Source;spdt (Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for .)

These 2 errors NEARLY ALWAYS come up before it crashes with the Kernel-Power error. Although sometimes its only Event ID 4.

I've tried updating the wireless adapter driver with no luck.

    Any suggestions pleaseeeeeee?

Do not use the driver engine to update them, instead visit your notebook support as well as devices manufacturers' support sites directly. It might be a pain doing that, but this is the best and the right way to search for drivers.

Okay thank you. I'll give both steps a try! anything else I should know? nothing to do with my cpu?

    Really follow what's outlined here:

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

If you're willing, you may want to test with https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

But be sure to update your old drivers, it's important.

    Thank you.
I've reinstalled my audio driver and wireless adapter driver, which are now compatible for windows 7. but depsite this, it still used to crash in windows vista, but maybe not for the same reasons :/
Anyway, i've checked the event viewer and it seems okay up to now, still been getting the spdt error Event ID 4 and a BugCheck error, which restarted my laptop.

Any idea how to disable this bugcheck? or is it something thats just conflicting with my hardware?

after a lot of faffing and testing, i've found out the error is due to (very highly likely) Bittorrent.
So could it be because of my wireless adapter or something?! Utorrent does the same thing..
i've tried uninstalling my adapter, updating it to the latest etc etcl. anyyyyyyyy help please? :)

I don't think uTorrent as such can cause problems.

Update the drivers listed above. I would actually reformat and reinstall the os.

Since unfortuntely it's 0x124_GenuineIntel_PROCESSOR_BUS_PRV, take the time to read and do what's outlined here:

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
