    Windows Seven wont boot

Hello, I am running windows 7 home premium 64 bit, yet when i start the machine it will not boot past bios. I tried to run the windows repair disk and of course this failed. So now I have removed the laptops hdd and have it plugged in via bridge into my xp desktop. I do not know how to find this error, originally I thought boot.ini, but that no longer exists. I anyone has any helpful tips that would be great, Thanks!
