    Hello.

I have an identical problem to that described by Tigey - complete freeze of system sometime after startup, after reboot all is well until the system is restarted after a power off - each day. Problem seems to go away in the summer... Windows records daily critical events type 41 Kernal-Power.

I have swapped out all components including having RMA'd the processor. The motherbaord has been back to ASUS and had the bios changed. Memtests are fine. No apparent overheating problems.

Same problem has occured using XP64, XP32, W7 and Ubuntu operating systems.

Any assistance greatly appreciated. I am thinking of dumping the motherboard.

If you can get your hands on some memory try changing out your modules. I just helped a person that was having a freezing problem and it ended up being the Crucial memory modules even though they tested ok.

    Many thanks

    Dear Commodore Pet,

I will obtain some further memory, probably 4GB modules from a different supplier in due course. Inevitably the system has behaved itself since I posted...

    Many thanks,
