BSOD 0x00000101 when coldbooted, stable after reboot...
Hi, this will be a long post but i want to provide as much history as possible, thank you in advance for reading this.
I builded my computer in january 2009.
Two times did my motherboard, a DFI Lanparty JR X58-T3H6 failed (with different errors).
The first time, january 2010, my reseller didn't had another DFI board in stock at the moment so instead i got an Asus Rampage II Gene.
When the new Asus board was installed i got an BSOD when my PC was booted up for the first time every day. The BSOD came after 5-15 minutes of playing, if i didn't play or loaded the PC nothing happend.
After a reboot the problem was gone, until the next day.
Re-installed windows, but it didn't make any differ.
Me and my reseller assumed that the Asus board was faulty so i got it replaced again, now back to the same DFI board as before.
No BSODs anymore.
So a couple of weeks ago my DFI board died again, and my reseller doesn't work with DFI anymore so now I got an Asus Rampage III Gene
And yes, you guessed right, the problem is back again...
Appears exactly as before.
First boot of the day (not necessarily 24h, but it must been off for several hours) after 5-15 minutes of gameplaying the PC start to lag and the audio start to sparkle and popping. 30-60seconds later: BSOD.
So i have had some hair-pulling days to try to find whats causing this.
One of the first tip i googled was to manually set the CPU voltage to 1,3V (instead of ~1,28V)
First i thought it was my DDR3 memories which was incompatible, I originally build my PC with 3x2GB A-Data AD31333002GMU modules, and they wasn't in Asus QVL list.
So i borrowed a Kingston 2GB module (don't know exactly model) from a friend, and started to load my PC with OCCT for maybe 30-45 minutes, and it seemed OK.
So i went off buying new memory, this time from Asus QVL list of course, so now I have 3x2GB Kingston KHX1600C9D3K3.
So, pushed my PC with OCCT again, and the lagging and weird audio (was playing music in background to identify this) started after about 30 min instead of the previously 5-15min. But this time the BSOD didn't appear so fast, it took about 20 more min before the BSOD came.
So i contacted Asus support chat, and after some discussion he recommended me to set the memory to its default settings.
So far it's was going on the board default (1066MHz) so went in to bios and set it for 1600MHz, 9-9-9-27 @1,65V and waited for the next day.
So next day, OCCT again, and this time BSOD appeard quite fast (maybe 5-10min) with errorcode "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" Stop 0x00000050 (0xFFFFF8A011EE63F8, ....) Windows wouldn't boot, BSOD again, so i set the memory back to board default.
Now i'm going crazy, spent 140$ for new ram and no good...
So next i tried to disconnect my front audio and firewire panel. Read about this somewhere when i googled around, but i didn't take it serious but then i realised i never used front audio with my old DFI board, so maybe anyway?
Answer: No, didn't make any differ at all.
So now i switched graphic card with a friend who has a similar rig, but he have a XFX AMD HD5770 GPU, and i have a Gigabyte nVidia GTX280.
No problem at all, i pushed my PC with different OCCT tests for more than 3 hours.
Switched back again, and my BSOD was back again. When i switched back to my GPU again my PC only was off 1 hour, so it should have been stable when you think about how it been before.
So apparently it's my graphic card who needs a reboot to run stable.
Worth mentioning an extra time, when i had the DFI board i never had any BSOD, and my friend could use my GTX280 with no problem at all on his motherboard Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R.
Yesterday i updated to latest bios, updated my nvidia drivers after i cleaned the old ones with some driver remover from nVIDIA Geforce 480 470 285 260 9800 275 295 GT GTX AMD ATI Radeon HD 5870 5850 5770 4890 X2 - Guru of 3D: PC Hardware Reviews
Also found a tip about uninstall Deamon-Tools, so thats gone now also.
But today i got the BSOD again and it this one today i'm including in the dump-zip.
I also include a hardware report from HWinfo32, a screenshot with OCCT running while monitoring with HWinfo32, and it shows that all my temps are normal, the voltages i don't know.
Have you read all this? Thank you
