    System running slow, freezing up

    Hi,
I have recently had some problems with my laptop. Error reading from hard disk when booting, did clean instal then user accounts gone etc. They all have been solved and after that it started to run slower and slower and frezing up constantly now.
    So:
I can start windows in safe mode, it doesn't freeze that much but still sometimes.
I can start it in safe mode plus networking, but i can only use internet for like a minute or so, then it freezes.
I can start windows normaly, but it takes more time than usualy to connect to internet and when it connects to it ( if at all ), i click anywhere and it freezes up.
In my case freezing up means I get this waiting/loading state in which i can move the cursor, but can't do anything.

Also my hard drive gets very hot, so i'm not really sure if it's windows or hardware problem.
    Any thoughts?

Is there any way to run a virus scan?

Not really, but i scanned it few times before the freezing problems, when it was only slow. Cought nothing.

Oh and AntiVir cought and deleted something in Skype directory today ( i only downloaded Skype yesterday ). But don't think it's relevant.

OK I have to admit that this is beyond my brain but keep your subscription set to instant and one of our wizards will be along to help. Don't worry.

    Ok, thanks.

Also, I'm on safe mode with networking and it didn't freeze for like 20 minutes or so. I think that's because i'm only using seven forums. Usualy it freezes while loading some ad or something made of flash.
But that's only safe mode with networking. I can't even open a browser on normal boot.

Edit: spoke too soon, it did it again whil i was at another thread in these forums. It's like i can browse through some set amount of data, then freeze.

Can't open browser with normal boot and your hard drive gets excessively? hot. Again I'm not as knowledgable as so many of our members here but there seems to be a relation there.

My suggestion, turn your computer off and let it cool down, come back in say 15-30 minutes and see what responses you have as it seems you have limited time to be online.

Tried to let it cool down, then restart, even have removed the hard drive to cool it faster, but it loads kind of slow and it gets hot fast after i turn the laptop on again.
