Random BSOD - unable to find cause

Hope you can help with this...

Installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 version a few months back and have had random BSOD since then. Sometimes twice a day, then not for 2 weeks. It's always random, quite often when the laptop is just on but not being used.

The laptop originally came with Vista Business 32bit which was a hog, CPU always over 20%, HDD always active etc. but as the hardware supports 64 bit I installed this version to also use the full 4GB Ram.

    Dell XPS M1530, 4GB Ram, T7500 2.2GHz CPU, 500GB Seagate Momentus HDD

Any help will be much appreciated!

HI Chris; welcome to the forum. Sorry you are having problems. I looked at three of your dumps and all three directly blame snapman.sys, an Acronis driver. I also notice that you have Acronis loading at startup. Completely uninstall Acronis.
    Probably caused by : snapman.sys
Error code B8, Usual causes: Device driver

I find outdated drivers loading on your system. Those in red font are really obsolete. Old drivers can and do cause BSOD's. Update the following drivers.
AegisP.sys Thu Jul 12 15:57:49 2007 - AEGISP.SYS is related to AEGIS Client 3.4.0.1. Meetinghouse Data Comm or Cisco http://www.cisco.com

    How to find drivers -
    - I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box above. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
The drivers dated 2006 and 2007 are XP drivers. XP software and hardware are not going to work with Win7. You should uninstall any software that is XP software.

    Chris

These were almost all caused by NETw4v64.sys your Intel wireless driver. ( It is 3+ years old.) and Snapman.sys (Acronis)

I would update the wifi driver and remove (or update) acronis.

    Hi Carl & Ken,

    Success!

I updated the Wifi driver and Acronis and after 1 week, no more BSOD.
Thanks again for your help on this - was much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Thank you very much for the update, Chris, and we love hearing good news. :) So glad you have been BSOD free. You are very welcome for the help. Don't neglect those other outdated drivers. They will come back to bite you. I will ask the moderators to mark this thread as solved.
