    BSOD - 0x0000001e

    Hi,

    I've recently re-installed my PC, since it was giving me quite a few BSoD's while playing games.
    The BSoD's when gaming are gone, but if I leave it overnight, it seems to crash.

    Now, I am aware that 0x1e can relate to device drivers, so it might be a driver-update is needed, but I can't really figure out which one it would be.

    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

    If anyone could give suggestions based on the attached file, that'd be very appreciated.

    Hi,
    Your dumps bugcheck :
    - 0x1e = KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED usual caused by drivers
    - 0xA = IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL could be cause by drivers or RAM

    I believe your Asus driver (ASACPI.sys) is obsolete need to be update ASAP because it's known as BSOD maker in win7.

    Uninstall Alcohol/Daemon software and remove its driver (sptd.sys) with this tools --> DuplexSecure - Downloads.
    Because Sptd.sys also have some issues in win 7.
    For alternative you can use MagicIso --> Using MagicISO to create ISO image files

    Then for troubleshooting purpose, it's better to uninstall Avast and replace it with MSE. You may go back to Avast if your system have stabilized.
    http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

    These drivers need to be update:
    Code:
    ASACPI.sys   Sun Mar 27 18:30:36 2005 --> Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility
    RTKVHD64.sys Fri May 22 11:04:20 2009 --> Realtek HD audio
    sptd.sys     Sun Oct 11 13:55:14 2009 --> Remove it with SPTDinst
    Log

    So far so good, I left it on over the night (once again), and it wasn't crashed in the morning.
    It crashed two days in a row before doing the things you suggested, so I am confident that it has worked, but I'll be testing it over the next couple of days :)

    Once again, thank you so much for the help - I really hope it'll stay stable :)

    Original post updated with new dumps

    This one happened while gaming though.
    If someone would please look it over, I'd be very grateful - I think I'll run some ram tests if nothing can be found.

    I suggest that you test your RAM with Memtest following the instructions in this tutorial: RAM - Test with Memtest86+. Run Memtest for at least 7 passes. This will take 6-8 hours. Errors, if any will show on your screen in red. Post the results.

    Follow CarlTR6 advice to perform memory test.
    And I see that you have updated the drivers, but haven't replaced Avast yet.
    So try uninstall and replace it with MSE as suggested before.

    I set up my PC to run Memtest before leaving for work this morning.

    I left it running for 7,5 hours, and it successfully completed 9 passes without any errors.

    I will try replacing Avast for MSE now - I'll certainly cross my fingers and hope for the best :)

    Dont forget to test each MB slot with a known good stick of ram.
