O I forgot to mention I was running Aero when it happened and basically a few second later Windows said something to the effect of Windows Recovered from an error. Just wondering would I have to update my video drivers or something ?

What usually causes this sort of error ?

It was caused by your Radeon driver, uninstall it then use driver sweeper to remove leftover driver files
    Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Then reinstall latest Radeon drivers Graphics Drivers & Software

Usual Causes: Bad RAM, outdated drivers, faulty GPU

Run a memtest if reinstalling the drivers do not work
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+
