    Recurring Blue Screen

I've been getting this blue screen for some time now. I can't tell for sure what the problem is. I did tempered a little with my ram memory (A while ago I put a 2GB dim alongside the other 2GB which my laptop came with and then I got it out, so I left only the initial 2GB dim), but I am not completely sure that it's a ram fault.
For instance, some games sometimes run very slow - and then the computer recovers - i get lower fps and so on (i got that in FIFA 10).
The last error I had was after I exited quakelive (actually after I closed the browser itself).
Anyway, I am uploading the dump i collected with the SF Diagnostic Tool. I hope somebody can help.

    Thanks
      My Computer

Hi, quas; and welcome to the forum. Please run the tool again and upload all of the resulting files. Follow the instructions in this tutorial: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. There are several files I need to look at that are not included in your upload.

I looked at all three of your dumps and all three indicate memory corruption.

I suggest that you uninstall Eset NOD32 using this removal tool: Tool. Eset is known to cause crashes on some Win 7 systems. Your Event App log shows Eset crashed at least three times. Download and install Microssoft Security Essentials in its place and make sure Windows Firewall is turned on. After you get your system stable, you can try Eset again; but I do not recommend it.

You have outdated drivers loaded on your system. Out of date drivers can and do cause memory corruption and crashes. Those drivers in red font are really obsolete and some are XP drivers. XP software is not going to work with Win 7 except in the XP mode.

I do not believe you will be able to find updated drivers for the Ricoh card reader or the Suyin webcam. If you cannot find drivers updated for Win 7, this means this hardware is obsolete. Completely uninstall it and upgrade to hardware certified compatible with Win 7: Windows 7 Compatibility: Software Programs & Hardware Devices: Find Updates, Drivers, & Downloads

    How to find drivers -
    - I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box above. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads
If you need help, please post. Uninstall Eset and either update the above drivers or uninstall the obsolete hardware/software. Reboot and see how your system does. Update us and let us know. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there.

Don't forget to upload the rest of the files using the JC Griff tool.

    New memory dump

I hope I got it right now. I think I hadn't waited enough for it to generate all the events that occurred.
I couldn't install the drivers you were talking about because I didn't have time, but I will and I will post a new message if any problem occurs.

Thank you for your diagnosis so far. This is like forensics. It's incredible

LOL. Yes, it is like forensics. In fact, the dump is called a post-mortem dump file.

For some reason, well over half of the files normally generated by the tool are not uploaded. But we will go with what we have. Please update us on how your system is doing.

    New info

Ok, there are some things I couldn't solve and others that I should tell you about so that you can have a better understanding of what might be happening with my laptop :)

As far as the drivers ar concerned:
-the audio driver is the latest on hp.com, so I don't know where to find a newer one.
-i have searched on the intel site for 'intel management engine interface', and (I know this sounds stupid) I don't know which one to pick :) I've got no criterion. I do know that I shouldn't choose the desktop motherboard

The laptop isn't that old (8530p) so I don't understand how those ricoh card readers might be obsolete hardware. I've downloaded the xp drivers from the hp.com in the Windows 7 Ultimate 64 section, so this is a little strange. I don't really understand how they ended up being 'xp drivers' and not windows 7 drivers
I followed the microsoft windows compatibility link, but (this should sound stupid, too) I don't really understand how to download drivers that might be compatible with my hardware.

As far as my laptop symptoms are concerned, you should also know that my laptop sometimes freezes slowly for apparently no reason (by 'freezes slowly' I mean that everything freezes, but I can move my pointer for some time and maybe click on some windows and then it stops responding completely - this happens in a matter of tens of seconds, or sometimes less). I have realised that this sometimes happens when I unplug my charger (I don't know if this is the correct word for it). I did it once by mistake and my computer completely freezed. So technically windows doesn't "know" there's an issue and I don't get the blue screen (which might have been adequate)

Moreover, sometimes, when I close the lid (closing the lid only makes the screen go blank) and the drive guard is activated and I walk a little with it in my hand it can't recover from the blank screen when I open it back.

For now I think I won't do any more changes (with the exception of the drivers) so that I can make sure it behaves similarly in the future (blue screen, freeze, etc.) and then I'll start with uninstalling nod32 (isn't the microsoft essential antivirus a commercial product? I have a licence for nod32, so this is why i'm asking) and maybe changing my ram with another one or moving the dim from one slot to the other.
Anyway, I will be waiting for your advice first of all, and thank you for the assistance that you've provided me :)

Since you have laptop, the best place to get hardware drivers is from the laptop manufacturer. Laptop manufacturers often modify the "standard" driver for the laptop. On Intel's site, you should be able to search by the model of your computer or the motherboard. You definitely made the right decision not to install a desktop motherboard driver.

The date a computer is purchased does not determine when the computer was manufactured nor old the components are.. A Rico card reader is basically built for XP. Third party drivers for Win 7 are dated July 13, 2009 or later.

This sounds like a power issue, especially going from power to battery. Is your computer still under warranty? If so, I would have it checked out.

I suggest before you make hardware changes, that you uninstall NOD32. MSE is a commercial product in the sense that it is a Microsoft product; however, it is not for sale and it is MS OS version specific.
