Mark, I am sorry to hear that you got scammed. I hope you reported the seller to EBay. Have you validated your copy of Win 7?

It went fine, registered and all that .. but you know ... i can't turn my PC on now, so i can't validate it properly. I'm in the process of getting my money back, and im reporting the guy to Microsoft. He will pay or lose his account.

The guy sent his apologies, and is willing to give me a refund ... He said his supplier is to blame, he knew nothing about it. He also said 2 other customers complained too, so yeah, I'm not yet insane.

But what the heck is wrong with my PC!!

OK, then your hardware, at least your basic hardware, is working properly. It is probably your counterfeit copy of Windows causing the problem. You really won't know until you get a legitimate copy of Win 7. When you do, reformat your hard drive and and do a clean install. It is quite possible and even likely that your copy of Windows includes malware - virus, keylogger, Trojan, etc. You can't really do anything with the installation you have.

Just so you know, that forum rules prohibit us from working with illegal software of any kind. This is not a criticism of you. You got taken. It is just that we cannot help with an illegal copy.

    Hey.
I totally understand, I have had a legal copy of a Polish version just before this, and i had the same problem, I'm sure it's nothing to do with windows at all. I only installed this one because i wanted to have a full english version.

I can help you with your hardware. I suggest that you run Memtest to test your RAM. This runs outside of Windows. Follow the instructions in the tutorial below and let Memtest run for at least 7 passes. This will take 6-8 hours. Post back with your results.
