Hi Greg . . .
Your ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 drivers named as the probable cause in the lone dump -
Try the Windows 7 display driver only - no CCC - ATI RadeonCode:ati2dvag.dll Tue Aug 12 22:34:46 2003 (3F39A3C6) - ATI - ATI Radeon ati2mtag.sys Tue Aug 12 22:34:27 2003 (3F39A3B3) - ATI - ATI Radeon ati3d1ag.dll Tue Aug 12 21:49:14 2003 (3F39991A) - ATI - ATI Radeon
These drivers need to be updated as well, but I am unable to locate Windows 7 drivers for these devices -
Code:omci.sys Fri Jul 19 11:22:06 2002 (3D382E9E) - Dell OpenManage Client Instrumentation driver el90Xbc5.SYS Wed Jun 04 19:36:58 2003 (3EDE829A) - 3Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller (3C905C-TX Compatible) - Customer Care Software - HP Networking i2220ntx.sys Thu Nov 04 06:29:36 2004 (418A0490) - INPROCOMM IPN2220 Wireless LAN Card - ac97intc.sys Fri Sep 16 14:30:29 2005 (432B0F45) - Intel(r) 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio Controller - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/

Thanks John. Had troubleshot the ATI driver a year ago at install to get a handle on the bluescreens as installer's MS stock driver precluded sleep. Wondered if another driver or app was conflicting. He rarely gets BS any longer except under heavy stress.
ATI website refers to Dell Support for Radeon Mobility 7500.
Latest Dell has for C640 tag 66BHR21 is an XP driver ATI Mobility M7 v.A07 6.14.10.102 which I had installed a year ago in XP mode. However the installed now says 6.14.10.6378 so I wonder if it was Updated since.
So I reinstalled ATI Mobiility M7 v.A07 from Dell in XP mode and it remains 6.14.10.6378.
The bluescreens are infrequent enough that he may have to live with it? He has good performance otherwise.
Update: After stress-testing with memtest86, bizarre bluescreen which looked like it was scrolling too fast to read. Same bugcheck registered in Event Viewer.
Have reverted to Standard VGA display driver which precludes sleep but offers same 1024 x 768 resolution.
This is the first time I remember having to use this driver. Any other known issues besides sleeplessness? May be the fix?
Thanks.
Hi Greg. . .
I am simply amazed that Windows 7 is running mostly stable with a 2003 video driver.
The system's inability for sleep may be BIOS related as well. See if updated BIOS available.
What does the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor have to say?

Hi again John -
We had Dell support while trying to install latest BIOS update a year ago. Even reimaged XP to try updating and it failed. Dell said it was a mobo variation failure.
Owner says he can do without sleep on VGA driver which appears stable. I have never gotten sleep to work on Standard VGA video driver which is why I've never kept one until now. But they are stable last-resort drivers by all reports.
