Black screen then Cannot connect to windows service

    Hey Forum,

I have a Toshiba Satellite that is about 6 months old that I had recently installed AVG on. The laptop started doing the black screen after the "windows starting" screen and would stall there for 2-3 minutes. It would then load my homescreen but the system is very slow to respond and I would also get an error message reading "Failed to connect to windows service". I tried to restore from an earlier point thinking that AVG messed up but it is still doing it. I also tried the video card fix and it is still doing it. I booted in safe mode and scanned with malwarebytes...still doing it. I also tried the download from Previx.
Thank you all for your time on this and for your help.

Um, un-install AVG and replace with Microsoft SEcurity Essentials, and the win 7 firewall.

Try a start up repair! Should fix this issue.
