Driver Power State Failure - Help appreciated!

I've followed the instructions in the sticky and attached a zip. After browsing around this forum, it appears that people like this to be short, to the point and detailed - so I'll try my best :)

    Background information:
Custom built computer. Built several months ago, but rarely used (~4 hours a week).
I've done a fair bit of research on this issue and have been unsuccessful.

Problem occurs at random times - when idle or in use, and leads to another problem affecting shutdown (gets to last step, hangs, then blue screen after 2 hours).

I think Windows backup getting stuck at 66% (during system image backup stage from C: to E: ) leads to the shutdown hang, which leads to the blue screen. Backup wont properly cancel after it has started either.

Hard disk sleep is set to "Never".
There's no problems returning from standby/hibernate.

    Specifications:
    Windows 7 Professional x64 - MSDNAA.
    Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D-E
    CPU: i7 930
    RAM: Corsair XMS3 6GB Tri 1600Mhz
HDD: 2x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black SATAIII 6Gb/s
    GFX: MSI GeForce 460GTX 768MB GDDR5

The two hard drives are connected to the separate SATAIII ports (Marvell controller) on motherboard. AHCI is enabled in BIOS and Windows Registry.

EDIT: I've done some amateur looking into the minidumps and this pops up a lot: ntoskrnl.exe (?).

I thinks that's all the info I can give. Sorry it's in note form - would have been an essay if I sentenced everything.

Extreme thanks in advance to contributors!

    Let's see now ...

    Edit:

The most recent crash was caused by Marvell magni.
    X64_0x9F_3_disk_IMAGE_mv91xx.sys

    Check for updates:

    mv91xx.sys Wed Mar 17 03:53:06 2010
    Marvell magni

    athrx.sys Tue Jun 09 14:06:49 2009
    Atheros CB42/CB43/MB42/MB43 Network Adapter

    nusb3hub.sys Thu Jan 21 22:22:18 2010
NEC USB 3.0 Hub (latest is April 2010)

    yk62x64.sys Mon Feb 23 10:02:27 2009
    Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller

If newer drivers don't fix it, then test your RAM with memtest overnight:

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

EDIT: I've done some amateur looking into the minidumps and this pops up a lot: ntoskrnl.exe (?).
    Ntoskrnl.exe - Microsoft® Windows® NT Kernel :)

I've updated all but one of those drivers...

I'm struggling to find a newer version.Their official website isn't great and Google results aren't returning anything newer than 1.0.0.1036 (my current version)

I'm still happy some stuff has been updated. Maybe that's fixed it. I'll update the thread soon...
I'm regretting SATA3 now. I should've stuck to normal storage with simple controllers *sigh*

If it helps - I've looked in Hardware Ids in device manager and it's 9123.
Forward thinking: How long roughly should I expect Memtest to take on my 6GB?

For the memtest, you need to leave it run overnight, or overday whenever is convenient for you, 8-10 hours. This post explains very well:

I haven't abandoned this thread - I've just been busy.

    Going to do Memtest86+ now...

Memtest has reported no errors - which is great news.
I really didn't want to RMA anything.

Bad news is that it narrows it down to that stupid Marvell driver (?).
I'm struggling to find it anywhere on the web. Not sure if I should blame Marvell or ASUS.

The ASUS download page for my motherboard has only the following for SATA:

    • Marvell 912x Controller Driver V1.0.0.1036 for Windows 32/64bit XP & Windows 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit Windows 7.
    • Marvell 9128 Controller Driver V1.0.0.1034 for 32/64bit Windows XP & Windows Vista & Windows 7.(WHQL)
    • Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager Driver V8.9.0.1023 for Windows 32/64bit XP & Windows 32/64bit Vista & 32/64bit Windows 7.(WHQL)

I'm using 912x V1.0.0.1036 at the moment and the problem still exists.
I was using 9128 V1.0.0.1034 before and still had the problem. Although I've now noticed that it's WHQL so I'm going to give it another go.
It can't be the Intel one, right? Because the SATAIII's are controlled separately (?).

I've been using Marvell 9128 Controller Driver V1.0.0.1034 (WHQL) and everything seemed fine until 10 minutes ago when I got a different stop error blue screen.

    INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

Should I start a new thread for this?

    .dmp attached.

just curious if you ever found a resolution to your Marvell driver problem.

I've got the same thing going on, only with the latest dud from Marvell (1.0.0.1047). Marvell website is useless and google doesn't have much...

Any info you can share I'd really appreciate it!

    Thanks!
