Driver Power State Failure - Help appreciated!
I've followed the instructions in the sticky and attached a zip. After browsing around this forum, it appears that people like this to be short, to the point and detailed - so I'll try my best :)
Background information:
Custom built computer. Built several months ago, but rarely used (~4 hours a week).
I've done a fair bit of research on this issue and have been unsuccessful.
Problem occurs at random times - when idle or in use, and leads to another problem affecting shutdown (gets to last step, hangs, then blue screen after 2 hours).
I think Windows backup getting stuck at 66% (during system image backup stage from C: to E: ) leads to the shutdown hang, which leads to the blue screen. Backup wont properly cancel after it has started either.
Hard disk sleep is set to "Never".
There's no problems returning from standby/hibernate.
Specifications:
Windows 7 Professional x64 - MSDNAA.
Motherboard: ASUS P6X58D-E
CPU: i7 930
RAM: Corsair XMS3 6GB Tri 1600Mhz
HDD: 2x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black SATAIII 6Gb/s
GFX: MSI GeForce 460GTX 768MB GDDR5
The two hard drives are connected to the separate SATAIII ports (Marvell controller) on motherboard. AHCI is enabled in BIOS and Windows Registry.
EDIT: I've done some amateur looking into the minidumps and this pops up a lot: ntoskrnl.exe (?).
I thinks that's all the info I can give. Sorry it's in note form - would have been an essay if I sentenced everything.
Extreme thanks in advance to contributors!
