    BSOD

    hello everybody,

    here's my spec

    OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64
    CPU Intel Q6600 step G0
    Motherboard Asus P5Q SE PLUS
    Memory G-Skill 2x2Gb Pi series 1200Mhz DDR2
    Graphics Card(s) ATI H5570
    Sound Card SBAudigy 24bit
    Monitor(s) Displays SyncMaster SAMSUNG 2032bw
    Screen Resolution 1680x1050
Hard Drives SAMSUNG HD753LJ ATA Device
    WDC WD5000AAKS-08V0A0 ATA Device

and attached you'll find perfmon and Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.

I am experiencing BSOD and right now i find out that while i'm playing defense grid 2, after few minutes, my pc crashes.

But it not happens only in this case, coz i let my pc on while downloadin' and i found it rebooted. So i'm not sure what is the cause.

I tried chkdsk and updating vga driver. I defrag regulary and I try keeping my pc clean (eg. ccleaner, not installing stupid toolbars and other stuff).

Hope you can help me, if you need any further information i will be glad to improve my thread.

    Thanks @ all.

Hi Fandonius; welcome to the forum.

To begin try removing any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads. Select uninstall; do NOT select reinstall.

Here is a free alternative CD virtualization program that does not use the sptd.sys driver.
    Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview

I find another almost guaranteed BSOD maker.
    Code:
      ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
    Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005)

I recommend that you uninstall AVG. AVG is known to cause BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Use this removal tool:
Tool (64 bit). If you have Identity Protection installed, remove it with this tool: Tool. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place.

You have two out of date drivers loaded on your system. One is quite obsolete. Old drivers can and do cause BSOD's. Update these drivers or eliminate them.
BVRPMPR5a64.SYS Wed Feb 21 12:56:15 2007 - BVRP NDIS 5.0 MPR Protocol Driver. I cannot find what this XP driver belongs to; rename it. See Note.

KMWDFILTER.sys Wed Apr 29 02:20:48 2009 - wireless mouse driver from Trust MI-4950R/TRUST MI-7700R or Medion, or Tevion mouse. Update this mouse driver or upgrade to a new mouse compatible with Win 7.
       Note
To rename drivers, first create a system restore point. Use Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, locate the driver and rename the driver from .sys to .bak. This will break the software or hardware the driver is associated with.

    APC_INDEX_MISMATCH (1)
This is a kernel internal error. The most common reason to see this
bugcheck is when a filesystem or a driver has a mismatched number of
calls to disable and re-enable APCs. The key data item is the
Thread->KernelApcDisable field. A negative value indicates that a driver
has disabled APC calls without re-enabling them. A positive value indicates
that the reverse is true. This check is made on exit from a system call.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000076d0008a, address of system function (system call)
    Arg2: 0000000000000000, Thread->ApcStateIndex << 8 | Previous ApcStateIndex
    Arg3: 00000000ffff0000, Thread->KernelApcDisable
    Arg4: fffff880081fc8e0, Previous KernelApcDisable

Follow these suggestions and let us know how your system is doing. If you get another BSOD, upload it and we will go from there.

You are welcome. I am glad you are running smoothly; that is the news we like to hear. Don't neglect to take care of those old drivers or they will come back to bite you.
