Windows 7: BSOD when browsing the web

I will try to do that "selective startup" thing on the weekend when I get a chance.

As for the "LV...sys" driver, I cannot rename or delete this file because it interferes with my sound and tuner card if I do so.

Very good. Let us know.

That program is obsolete. You need to upgrade to a tuner that is Win 7 compatible. The "magic" date for third party Win 7 drivers is July 13, 2009 or later. A 2008 driver is obsolete and not designed for Win 7.

The Hauppauge WinTV HVR-2250 TV tuner card is compatible with Windows 7.

The issue here is that an old file from a webcam I got rid of last year is interfering with other devices. I would love to uninstall/remove the driver, but it interferes with my TV tuner, though it is not actually part of it.

If that driver is required for the Tuner, the Tuner is not compatible with Win 7. Third party Win 7 drivers are dated July 13, 2009 or later. Win 7 was not even released on 2008, the date of this driver. Win 7 is an entirely new OS; it is not an evolution from XP. Software designed for XP and not updated for Win 7 is not going to run on Win 7 without problems, except in the XP mode.

Let me try this again. THIS DRIVER IS IN NO WAY RELATED TO MY TV TUNER!!!!

Just because it happens to "interfere" does not make the driver part of my tuner. It's from a god-forsaken Logitech webcam I had a few years ago.

The tuner was released in 2008, but I had not purchased it until late 2009 (I think).

Another thing, I no longer have the computer I had the Logitech webcam on. No I do not know why the driver is here. The hard drive that Windows 7 was installed on has never had an OS on it before. It was brand new.

I don't understand the behavior of my computer, but IT DOES INTERFERE if I delete/rename the file, even though it belongs to a device that is long gone.

If you don't believe me, do some research on the drivers WinTV uses! It even says "Logitech" in the digital signatures area of the file.

EDIT: Please read this. Apparently this driver causes everyone problems.

Sure enough, when looking throught sound video and game controllers, the devices in there had "LVUSBSta" listed under "Class Lower Filters"
