New PC and Win7 Load

Win 7 Ultimate x64 Retail.

Fresh load on all new hardware except for the Dlink wireless nic and GPU.

I have probably reloaded Windows 4 times in the last 4 months. The last was about a month ago.

Thank you for the help.

The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).
2-Memory

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Thank you for the help. I updated the driver and I'll run the memory test today. I did run the memory test that is built into the board and the windows test before posting this, but neither found anything.

I have been running multiple tests on the PC and this is the only error I saw.

The PC seems stable when it is lying on its side.

Another issue is that only two of the ram slots appear to be working. I tested each slot with one stick and then the other, and finally both. It won't POST with ram in 2 of the slots. I am leaning towards a bad Motherboard.

Bad mobo slot perhaps. You arent by chance changing the ram voltages, overclocking, or under volting?

No I am running with the standard configuration. Since the RAM is supposed to be able to run at DDR3-2200, I could turn up the voltages and see if that helps.

Wow it has taken me a long time to be able to formulate this specific question. I needed to understand the pros and cons of EasyBCD. And Win7 itself.
