The dump files blame netr28x.sys - a component of the LinkSys RT2860 - also known as the RaLink RT2860 Series Wireless LAN Card.

You should re-install with the newest version avalable.

    Hi,

    Code:
    netr28x.sys Thu Mar 29 16:09:51 2007 (460B2DFF)
The above out of date driver that is the cause of all your BSODs is the driver for your Belkin F5D8073 N Wireless ExpressCard Adapter

A simple update, if there is one available, should fix it. You should be able to find the update here - Belkin : Support F5D8073 N Wireless ExpressCard Adapter - Drivers

    Regards,
    Reventon

    Thanks Guys!

I was hoping it could be that simple. The BSOD only happens when I use the Belkin F5D8073 N Wireless ExpressCard Adapter. I went to Belkin's site and installed the newest driver and it got worse.
The blue LED on the card with the older driver only flashes once when slipped into the slot. Even with the older driver it will BSOD maybe once a day. With the newer driver it's hell. The LED operates like it should or did on Vista but will not hold a connection reliably and I get more frequent BSOD's. The version of the card is the 1st run by Belkin V.1022.

About the Older drivers: This is on a HP dv6000t laptop. I wrote Zeros to the HDD and installed Win7 HP x64 with fingers crossed.
All the drivers are what windows update provided. It runs flawless. The internal Wireless G Intel 3945 w/Bluetooth works great.

The ONLY problem is when using the Belkin. I have a Trendnet express slot card I may try later but it never got to the 270-300 mbps speeds like the Belkin.

As I try diffferent drivers and such can I keep this thread alive?

    Done!

    Thanks guys

From a post I put in the Network & Sharing section. I would not have known if it were not for you guys here.

    ====================

I have posted my share of requests for help and answers to some others over the years on all kind of forums and sometimes we overlook giving credit where credit is due.

I just upgraded this machine from Vista 32 to Windows 7 64 and experienced problems with my Belkin Express-card F5D8073 N wireless adapter. Long story short I was experiencing all kinds of anomalies.

On a Sunday, I emailed Belkin support prompting for Win 7 drivers not listed on their site and in one hour I had a reply with the solution.

The solution was to try compatibility mode. I should have known and will in the future but it saved my bacon.

Incase this comes up in a search for someone, if you are using the same card get the driver from their site and:

    1. Right click on the executable file
    2. Click Trouble shoot compatibility
    3. Select recommended settings and install.

My recommended setting was XP SP2 x64. DONE!
