Blue screen :(

Hi, I've been getting a blue screen after i try and put my laptop into sleep mode for the last week or so. Not really sure why its happening because I haven't installed anything or changed anything etc! Tried looking online to fix myself and tried updating a few drivers (Using a driver scanner utility program, windows said they were all up to date but they weren't.)

Attached the dump file as everyone else seems to. I can't even open it so I'm not sure what it does tbh!

Big thanks to anyone who can help, its really quite annoying not been able to 'sleep'!

Welcome to SF.

First, do the following:

HOW TO FILL OUT YOUR SYSTEM SPECS

In the line at the top of www.SevenForums.com you will see UserCP.
That is an abbreviation for User Control Panel.
Click on UserCP.
In the left-hand column, under Your Profile you will see Edit System Spec.
Click on Edit System Spec
You can copy and paste from the output of Speccy, Speccy - System Information - Free Download to fill out much of the info. Be sure to use the Other Info section of your System Specs for such info as your optical drive, your wireless adapter, your speakers, etc.

Then do this:

Hello,

It appears that your Broadcom wireless drivers are causing the problem. I don't see the drivers on the Acer support page, and Broadcom does not release its wireless drivers to the public.

If you can find an update, make sure they are dated later than your current drivers:
Code:
bcmwl664.sys Fri Aug 21 20:17:40 2009 (4A8F3924)
If you can't find an update, try disabling the device and using your Atheros Ethernet instead.

By the way, your Atheros drivers should be updated:
Code:
L1C62x64.sys Mon Jul 27 03:04:36 2009 (4A6D5184)
Here is the driver download page: Atheros Communications

I updated the drivers for the wifi yesterday whilst trying to fix this, so both the old and new drivers must be causing the problem? Also I've had the wifi drivers/wifi since I bought the laptop in september. Surely the problem would not have suddenly started now?
& I can't just not use my wifi at all...

Driver problems can arise for no apparent reason.

Is it possible that you could disable the wireless card and use only the ethernet? Go to Device Manager (devmgmgt.msc in the start menu), and right-click on your card.

Yes sure it is 'possible' to disable it, but not for my use of the laptop, i can't get wired internet in general.

Try disabling it then, and see if the problem goes away. The problem is fairly repeatable, right?

Yeah every time I try and put it into sleep mode.
So disable it before I do so? And then reenable on wake up?
