System crash while gaming

Hello, my system has recently started crashing while gaming. They seem to happen randomly as sometimes it crashes soon after I start playing and sometimes I play for hours without a problem. The sound starts stuttering and my display loses video. Recently, this has happened while my computer was idle. The attached dump and report was during the crash while idle and after reformatting. This is a custom built computer with the following specs:

Intel C2D E8400
4GB DDR2 RAM (2x 2GB sticks)
Asus P5Q-Pro Motherboard
Radeon 4870
Asus Xonar
Corsair HX620
Logitech G15 and G500 (using Setpoint software)
Windows 7 64-bit Retail Ultimate

Nothing is overclocked. I have never had hardware problems before as I always use high quality components. Unfortunately the memory dump doesn't point to what driver is causing the issue.

Some stuff I have tried:
Reformatted Windows
Memtest86 for 1 pass with no errors.
Ran Prime95 and Furmark for 1 hour with no errors
Used onboard sound drivers instead of Asus Xonar
Uninstalled Alcohol and STPD drivers
Temperatures are normal

I realize that the hardware testing I did isn't exhaustive but I really don't think it's a hardware problem. Thank you for the help.

Hi

Try re-installing your Xonar drivers.
What anti-virus/internet security suite are you using?

I'll reinstall the Xonar drivers if you think it'll help, but I did recently reformat and so all my drivers are updated. I'm using NOD32 Antivirus and Windows Firewall.

Are you still running Alcohol and the SPTD drivers?

Yes, after I got a crash without them being installed I guessed that they weren't the problem. So I installed them again.

Ok thanks for the clarification. Most of the BSOD guys on this forum may state that this software normally causes a lot of BSOD's.
Other than that, please confirm the following:
  1. Drivers are updated (video etc.)?
  2. Software versions are updated i.e. ESET is the latest or Windows-7 compatible?
  3. Does the crash happen with all games or specific titles?
  4. What PSU do you have (make, model etc.? >>>Just re-read your OP
  5. Are you connecting via HDMI, through the Xonar card or is it via the VGA?

Regards

1. I downloaded all the latest drivers for my hardware when I reinstalled Windows.
2. Both Alcohol and ESET are Windows 7 compatible but not the latest version. I'll update them but there's no way to know if it fixed the problem unless I crash.
3. It has happened with BC2 several times (possibly because it's the most demanding?), once during the SWTOR beta, and once while idle. So I think it's not just because of BC2.
5. My monitor is connected to the video card through DVI.
