    BSOD only while playing games

    The problem has been going on for about 2 weeks or so now, it started happening when i installed and starting playing the new Call of Duty. It started with my system freezing up resulting me in having to just physically reboot, then it progressed into blue screens. Now when i play just about any game i can play for about 10-15 minutes then will get hit with the blue screen. I have tried reformatting and replacing my video card, so far no luck.

    Can you finish filling your system specs?

    Computer Model/Brand
    Processor (CPU)
    Hard Drive Disk
    RAM
    Which type of Windows 7

    If you don't know the specs, do you know the computer model and brand?

    Sounds like if you need to update the nVidia Drivers.
    NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

    Update the drivers and see if BSOD appears again.

    We'll just wait for the BSOD Team - out of ideas.
    Here's the analyzed report:
    *******************************************************************************
    * *
    * Bugcheck Analysis *
    * *
    *******************************************************************************

    UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f)
    This means a trap occurred in kernel mode, and it's a trap of a kind
    that the kernel isn't allowed to have/catch (bound trap) or that
    is always instant death (double fault). The first number in the
    bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc)
    Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these
    traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes:
    If kv shows a taskGate
    use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv.
    Else if kv shows a trapframe
    use .trap on that value
    Else
    .trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken
    (on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap)
    Endif
    kb will then show the corrected stack.

    Hi Supadank. You definitely have some hardware/driver conflicts going on. I looked at you three most recent dumps and they are nearly identical: error code 7F and all blaming amdk8.sys, which is up to date. You will need to troubleshoot using the process of elimination to find the source of the conflict.
    7F, UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP. Usual causes: Memory corruption, Hardware (memory in particular), Installing a faulty or mismatched hardware (especially memory) or a failure after installing it, 3rd party firewall, Device drivers, SCSI/network/BIOS updates needed, Improperly seated cards, Incompatible storage devices, Overclocking, Virus scanner, Backup tool, Bad motherboard, Missing Service Pack.
    I recommend that you uninstall Spybot, especially Tea Timer. Tea Timer has caused conflicts on other Win 7 systems. I also recommend that you uninstall Trend Micro HouseCall. Usually this is not a problem, but you need to eliminate all possible sources of conflict. Remove HouseCall with this removal tool: Tool. What antivirus are you running? I see that you are running Windows Firewall and that is good. If you are running a third party antivirus, uninstall it and download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place.

    To replace Spybot, I recommend Malwarebytes (free). Download it and install it. It runs well with Win 7. Use it as an on demand scanner and update it before each scan.

    Here is an almost guarateed BSOD maker:
    Code:
    ASACPI.sys   Wed Oct 18 01:44:46 2006
    The 2006 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
    Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
    Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
    Download and install it.
    Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2006).

    You also have two other outdated drivers loaded on your system. Out of date drivers can and do cause conflicts, memory corruption and BSOD's. These are XP drivers and quite obsolete. Update the following drivers from the links provided.
    AmdLLD.sys Fri Jun 29 15:47:32 2007 - AMD Low Level Device Driver. Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD. This is an XP driver; update it.

    nvm62x32.sys Fri Oct 17 17:00:39 2008 - nVidia Ethernet Networking Driver (nForce chipset driver). Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers. This driver is obsolete; update it.
    Follow these suggestions, reboot and see how your system runs. Please let us know. If you get another BSOD, upload the dump and we will go from there.
