    Frequent BSOD's

This system was built approximately 8 months ago.... I last re-installed the OS about 5 months ago. The BSOD's used to average more than one a day, until I re-installed the video drivers with a driver sweep, which helped but did not eliminate the BSOD's..... My second attempt to fix the issue was to re-install all my sound drivers because spikes in my framerate would cause static over the speakers. That also helped, however I have just had another BSOD about 10 days since the last...

I do not have a driver sweeper for my sound driver (realtek)

The reports that you have submitted reveal clues to the cause of your problem. They do not give a definitive answer. The more reports that we receive the more clues are made available improving our chances of finding a solution to your problem. You may have to experience several more BSODs until the final answer is discovered.

    If overclocking restore normal settings

    SFC /scannow
    System Files - SFC Command

    Scan with your Anti Virus

Update outdated listed drivers. If I have inadvertently listed any Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored. If the list is extensive I have included the driver verifier test so that you may determine which drivers are in need of immediate attention.
    How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html
    and here
    http://www.edbott.com/weblog/the-vista-master-driver-list/
To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper
    www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/
You can also locate information about your driver using this information

Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done:

Wow thanks so much for the super fast response.... I will immediately find out what those old drivers are even for and revert back to an older graphics driver.

Update: that driver GVTDrv64.sys is pretty interesting.... I've found two versions of that program on my computer, one called Easytune6 and one called Smarttune6... One runs with errors and isn't functional...

I think its mainly the graphics, start with that.
    Go to search
    type device manger
In device manger make sure there are no yellow warning markers by graphics. It could be corrupt then just replace.

I have removed all the outdated drivers from the list as they were problematic and also remnants of virtual devices which i had previously attempted to remove. I ran the SPTD uninstaller.

There are no indications of errors in my device manager.... i have run memtests as well with no errors...

I have not yet reverted back to a previous video driver as there are many versions within the past year and I've updated to most of them and the last one has actually been the most stable (daily BSOD's until removing and re-installing the newest video driver)....

I will go ahead and try the previous released video driver if you believe I should still do so....

Sorry you did NOT do the memory test. Takes at least 8 hours for 8 passes. Do it over night.
I would make a system restore point and then change the driver. If it makes things worse you can go back with restore.

I have done the test previously..... while at work.... twice within the past month and no errors..... sry did not specify when... I have been constantly troubleshooting this computer since I got it and don't believe i've ever found a solution, which is why I believe its something older than the latest video Driver... I will revert and let u know tho.

I have also browsed through driver sweeper and found Nvidea chipset drivers, now removed..... Also I have uninstalled every codec and audio driver I can find, yet I'm still hearing sounds through my optical hookup... Am I missing a sound driver?

Lets not jump ahead. Follow my post, especailly getting an older driver for atikmadag.sys
Get rid of that program that does not work
    Go to search type cmd
    Right click cmd
    In cmd type driverquery
    Make sure sptd is gone
and all the drivers are updated.
Then have fun. Use computer normally, If you get another BSOD post.

sorry i did not post any results but I wanted to be sure everything is working okay..... My video card is actually made by Gigabyte, even though it is an ATI Radeon card.... I finally found an "older version" of the driver on the Gigabyte site that seems to be running flawlessly for a couple weeks now. Still feels like I should be getting more performance though.....

If the BSODs are fixed. Post your new problems in a new thread. Just mention what the symptoms are etc.
