Unmountable Boot Volume?
Hi, I've had my laptop for just over two weeks. I've kept very good care of it, and have been tinkering around and making it look cool for the last couple days. Well, last night, I was just on MSN Messenger and on Facebook and my computer froze for a couple of minutes, so I turned it off. I'm not sure if there were updates going on or not. Would this potentially be the cause of my troubles?
So, when I went to restart it, the menu came out as expected. Gave me a few options of how to start Windows, I picked "Start Windows normally," as I always would. However, the screen with the glowing sign saying "Starting Windows" was going slower than usual. On average, it only takes around all of 10 seconds to get passed that part. Instead, it was sticking there for 45-50 seconds, and a BSoD came up. It only stays on there for not even a second. I've done this multiple times and am positive it says "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME."
Safe mode gets me to "classpnp.sys" while loading and gives me the same blue screen. Startup repair also is not working. It will go to the bare, take little to no time, and just sit on a black screen with only your cursor on the screen. It stayed like that all night with no progression. I don't have any sort of installation disk or recovery disk, it did not come with it for some reason, which really frustrates me. If you can help me find the solution to my problem, I'd be ecstatic, and if you need any more detail that doesn't require me to look anything up on my laptop (I am on my family desktop right now, laptop beside me), I'd be more than happy to give you it. Thank you.
