What a great way to start off my birthday, a random BSOD! I walked in my room and my computer was restarting, checked the .dmp folder and sure enough there was a dmp file. The weird thing is that Windows did not pop up saying there was an unexpected shut down. No idea what caused it but I'm sure you guys can figure it out. Attachment 136356

You have three dumps over the last two days. All are nearly identical blaming atikmdag.sys, video driver, and showing memory corruption.
Quote:
Bugcheck 3B, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. Usual causes: System service, Device driver, graphics driver, ?memory.
Your video driver is up to date. I suggest you download the latest update from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD, remove Catalyst Control Center, and install only the display driver.

If this does not solve the problem and you get another BSOD, enable Driver Verifier following the instructions in this tutorial: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable. Of course, upload the dump file to us.

I'll try that later tonight and report back. Can't believe this video card is still giving me issues...

It may not be the video card, but rather CCC. CCC does not have a good reputation with Win 7.

My computer just keeps acting weirder and weirder. I just uninstalled CCC but it's still showing up in my right click menu for some reason but does nothing when clicked. I also tried to run a chkdsk but it got stuck at 1 second to cancel which with some Googleing I found out is a somewhat common problem and was able to cancel it. After that when I booted back up the screen dimmed at the Welcome screen and froze for a few seconds. It also seems to be slower than normal. I sure hope something isn't going bad in it. When I go to recycle something, even if its 1KB it has to sit there for a few seconds to a minute and "discover" the item. Same when coping and moving. When searching using the search bar in a window it sits there for a few minutes with the loading circle and the green loading bar in the address bar. It also takes around 20-30 seconds to go to sleep mode.

A lot of these things have been happening for a wile but just progressively get worse.

Download Malwarebytes, install it, update it, and run a scan. Let's make sure you don't have a nasty.

How does your system behave if you boot in the safe mode?

Download Malwarebytes, install it, update it, and run a scan. Let's make sure you don't have a nasty.

How does your system behave if you boot in the safe mode?
I run almost daily virus scans with Malware and MSE and nothing ever comes up.

It has a little less 'lag' I guess, still some. Could any of this be caused my hard drive beginning to fail?

That is a possibility; but usually a failing hard drive will trigger BSOD's. I f you think the hard drive is a possibility, run CheckDisk -
Quote:
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as adminstrator) Command Prompt. Please do this for each hard drive on your system.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter. Then reboot and let the test run. It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors. See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.

Elevated Command Prompt:
Go to Start and type in "cmd.exe" (without the quotes)
At the top of the Search Box, right click on Cmd.exe and select "Run as administrator"

CHKDSK LogFile:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Windows 7).

Copy/paste the results into your next post.

Check Disk will look at your file system and correct any problems with the file system. It will also show you how many bad clusters your Hard drive has. This is what you want to look for. Post your results.

The past few times I have tried to put my PC into sleep mode, I get a crash. The crash has been dxgkrnl.sys. To my knowledge, this has only been happening since I have added my third monitor to my Eyefinity setup. The third monitor uses a passive DisplayPort to VGA adapter. My guess is that...
