Locale ID 2057 - Grey screen of death aswell

I have been having the grey screen of death ( also some other random colours with stripes, but the grey screen with coloured stripes is the most frequent) since May of this year. (I built the system in May)

Solutions that I have tried and failed:

    1.) Install latest ati drivers
2.) Test my RAM with MemTest and Windiag
3.) Flash my motherboard bios to the latest version
4.) Installed all latest gigabyte drivers and chipsets
5.) RMA'ing my card, but "Overclockers" said its not faulty

One solution that did work, was to put another Grahics Card, a ASUS GeForce GT220. This card worked fine in my system. But its not good enough for games!

What I did now, was reinstall windows. My plan was to not install anything apart from internet security( Commodo is what I am using), a few non essential programs and of course windows update.

I did not install anything to do with ATI. Now I was on youtube, the sound of my hardrive started making noise, as if I was running some sort of virus scan, which I was not. Then my screen went black for a couple of seconds then windows recovered. I got the following error message from action centre:

also some other random colours with stripes, but the grey screen with coloured stripes is the most frequent
This suggests that the card is defective or overheating

There is a high probability that your graphic card is faulty
This bugcheck 0x117 is either caused by defective RAM or GPU

Dumps blame atikmdag.sys, your ATI display drivers

    - Boot into safe mode with networking
    - Uninstall the ATI drivers including Catalyst Control Center
    - Use driver sweeper to remove leftover ATI display driver files Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
    - Install the latest drivers ATI Radeon
    - Reboot into normal mode

If the above does not work you should replace your graphic card

    Code:
    BugCheck 117, {fffffa8003f56010, fffff88003e06fb8, 0, 0}

Unable to load image atikmpag.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmpag.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmpag.sys
    Probably caused by : atikmpag.sys ( atikmpag+6fb8 )

I have already asked for an RMA twice, however, 'overclockers' have replied twice by saying:

The product GX-227-SP on RMA193921 has been returned to you, this will be sent on a new order with order number 3715974.

Here is the technicians Test Report:

"Graphics card passes all Tests with no issues, Tests Run: Crysis WarHead, Furmark, 3Dmark Vantage, AVP, Lost Planet 2, Stone Benchmark MSI Kombuster, Resident Evil Benchmark, ATI Mecha, ATI Ladybug, "

(Graphics card passes all Tests with no issues, Tests Run: Crysis WarHead, Furmark, 3Dmark Vantage, AVP, Lost Planet 2, Stone Benchmark MSI Kombuster, Resident Evil Benchmark, ATI Mecha, ATI Ladybug, Streetfighter Benchmark and heaven benchmark tool, these were all tested at 1920 x 1200 resolution running maximum settings, tested on DX9, DX10 and DX11 where applicable, there was no issues apparent.)

This would suggest that the GPU is not faulty. I have tested the RAM once, but only for a fifteen minute period. I will check it again, but this time I will leave it for a longer period. I will probably use two tests, MemTest, and WinDiag. Is there anything else on the dump file that would suggest that's its triggered by windows updates or any drivers from programs that I have installed. I am asking because I have purposely not installed any ATI drivers since I reinstalled windows, in order to see if its bad ATI drivers. Like I mentioned in my first post, I have been suffering from the ATI grey screen on death since May with some sort of ATI driver installed on my PC. Now that I have nothing to do with ATI installed on my PC, what does that suggest?

Since your GT220 works fine, the problem lies in your graphic card or your driver

    None of these were involved

    I am not overclocking.

What you are saying makes sense. But, if 'Overclockers' tested it with no errors, it cant be GPU.

OK, what I will do is test my RAM again, for a longer period. If I get no errors, I will install the latest ATI drivers, but before I do that, I'll use Driver Sweeper. I'll get back to you soon! I appreciate the help!

My previous problem has happened again, without any ATI drivers installed. The computer just went black, with the screens back light on. I had to hold the power button to turn it off. I must have got a dump file for that, how and where can I find it? Do I just use the program from this website again?

The pictures I am attaching is what has been happening for the last couple of months. This screen has been the most frequent for sure, not the grey screen. The grey screen is the second most frequent.

If so then no dump file was created, I suspect a hardware issue
