    explorer crashing and restarting continously

I went to Las Vegas for a week and i come back to find my computer all messed up. My windows explorer keeps finding an error and starts opening the window that says windows searching for a problem. It will open these windows nonstop until i turn the computer off and i am unable to do anything. I have tried running safe mode and the only thing that changes is that it constantly restarts explorer rather than crashes. I am at a loss and i dont know what to do. I can get to the cmd prompt in safe mode if i work fast enough but thats about it. Could anyone help me with this problem?

Hello Seipmoney and welcome to Seven Forums.

I would recommend running a repair install to try and fix this so that you do not lose anything.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Explorer has crashed a few times when I had the RC installed but since clean install of build 7229 it is okay.

hey, i've been having the same issues. I just upgraded to windows seven in an effort to fix the issues with my windows explorer, among other things. I checked the reliability report and I got this:

Not sure what to do about it. But I think my audio volume wheel on the side of my computer has something to do with it. Please help me. I'm really getting sick of this.

Update your BIOS, chipset and other drivers, and remove any hardware that doesn't have Windows 7 drivers.

Frost, thanks for the info, but i'm not sure I know how to update my BIOS, chipset. Could you direct me on the process?

Edit: So i went to manufactures website and looked up chipset. Downloaded the windows 7 Chipset. And installed it. So hopefully that will take care of it. But as far as BIOS goes, The website said not to do it if I wasn't directed by some customer support agent or something weird like that. What does BIOS do?

The BIOS has the job of booting the OS, holding info on your hardware and if it works and providing access to other features like virtualization. It should be updated.
